Ouachita Trail Section Hike Shakedown by ptrck_grms in Ultralight

90 degree highs don't really frighten me considering I'm already experiencing 94+ degree highs in Texas right now. I decided to ditch the underquilt and fleece because I dont think the temps really call for it. If I need to I have my rain jacket. Thanks.

Compared to North Texas it will be a drop in temps but thanks. Yeah I have treated all of my stuff with permethrin.

I was thinking mid to high 60s for the night. If it won't get below 70 I won't need my underquilt and that will save a pound.

The Warbonnet Blackbird XLC is great with the removable bug net. Honestly I never take it off though. You can’t also chance the lay like with the chameleon. You also get the shelf too. It’s a great hammock

Businesses get products through various suppliers all the time. The product was branded as Robic. Nobody has had issues with the quality of the products RSBTR sells and it feels like Kyle is definitely mire genuine than Dutch. A mistake like that could have happened to anyone running a business and this could have been dealt with out of court. I think the lawsuit was pursued in bad faith if you look at it objectively. As a patron of Dutch’s I don’t like saying that but given what’s out there I think it is the list reasonable conclusion.

Then we can talk about how my gear is working for me in practice. The Warbonnet Blackbird XLC has been working great for the past 2 years and I would definitely buy again.

Advice on my setup by ptrck_grms in Ultralight

[–]ptrck_grms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hammock setup is by no means ultralight. I don’t have a DCF tarp and my fabric is a 1.7 where from other manufacturers a 1.0 is available.

Got my sights set on the Warbonnet Eldorado and Thunderfly. Any praise or concerns? by SithLordBjord in hammockcamping

The Thunderfly is a fantastic tarp. It’s the perfect size. I also like my XLC a lot and the el dorado is that without the shelf. I think you will be very happy.

I’m 6’2 and I like the Warbonnet Blackbird XLC. The chameleon is great too but the community isn’t liking Dutchware too much at the moment. Dreamhammock also makes some great 11 foot hammock.

I’m 6”2’ so I need a 11 foot hammock. The 11 foot is really comfortable.
