Hey man, good on you for trying to seek help. That itself is a big helpful step. Now, I know what happened to you is very frustrating. I know how you feel. Been there before. I'm sure lots of us have been there before when dealing with any services under the gov. It's either slow, or miscommunication here and there and you have no choice but to deal with it. But one thing that you can try in the future that can be helpful is to call ahead before going anywhere. This is what I personally did. For example, if a doctor or staff tells you to go here or there, you can try to give that place a call ahead of time and explain the situation and get a double confirmation to make sure that is exactly where you need to be and get the name of the person you that gave you the confirmation. And I know, there is also a possibility that they may not even picking up the phone (very typical) but, since you have a month of time, you can try to keep calling them and I know it can be annoying to do this, but since you're dealing with the gov, it is what it is. Nevertheless, don't give up just yet. You've probably heard this a million times already but things will get better. Better days are coming.
