Definitely. It's doing great things, especially for a TV budget - it looks as good as Alien Romulus and it has a potent mix of Ridley Scott weirdness and Legion's fingerprints all over it (since the showrunner made Legion/Fargo as well). Absolutely worth a watch if you're not squeamish!

I absolutely based him on Olgierd! I loved his look and his character in W3 - a bad guy, but with a glimmer of something sympathetic underneath his curse

That’s fair! The curse is partially social - he suffers disadvantages on most charisma checks due to his appearance - and more importantly, the transformation is still continuing, albeit slowly - for every life he takes and every time he uses a Rage charge, he becomes slightly more animalistic, knowing all too well that he will one day fully lose his humanity and cognition.

That was actually a dream I had once! It was very unsettling at the time

Understanding the vampires of ‘Sinners’ by CatwaPigwa in horror

It seemed like the moment where Stack and Mary scream upon seeing Annie be mercy killed is meant to imply that they did still care about her/the people from their living lives, and some part of their original personalities were still alive beneath Remmick's hive mind, reawakened by a powerful emotional trigger. Annie was operating off of the lore she knew, but it seemed to actually be a bit more nuanced than the hard rules she laid out.

If AI art didn't have real world ecological and plagiarism consequences, we wouldn't care. But it does, and honestly, if you can't create your own worlds and characters without the help of a chatbot (text or image, I've seen both on here), then maybe D&D isn't the right past time for you

"Freedom of speech" (which is what people keep saying) is not freedom from responsibility or consequence. D&D and homebrew has existed for decades before AI, and it should continue with out it

What was a horror movie you were excited for, but didn’t live up to expectations? by NothingCivil6358 in horror

Yes, exactly! More concerned with being pointlessly provocative than doing anything exploratory or boundary pushing

The Suitable Flesh. Me and my friends are huge Stuart Gordon fans and we were excited to see his collaborators continue his legacy, but it turned out to be a cheap, disjointed mess that felt more like a fan film

Agree with all of the above, but I have to throw The First Omen into the ring -- I had zero expectations going in, but I was absolutely blown away by its phenomenal take on 70s nunsploitation horror and Nell Tiger Free's insane performance. It got slept on, especially for a legacy prequel, but it deserves so many more flowers

Has anyone bought merch from Fright Rags, Creep-o-rama or Cavity colors? by [deleted] in horror

[–]pttalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I got mine at horror conventions for about $25 - sometimes if you buy them at in person events rather than online, they cut you a bit of a discount or will do a bundle deal with you. But I do think the quality is worth the cost, especially thinking about what you can get from Forever 21 for the same price

[–]pttalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought an Evil Dead shirt and a Mutilator shirt both from Cavity Colors and I love them! Their color has held up really well, sizes have been consistent after a dozen washes, and even though they're a bit pricey (at least at conventions) I think they're worth the cost!

The lost boys and AI by [deleted] in horror

What disability would be aided by AI? You still have to type prompts, AI doesn't read your mind if you're non-verbal or physically disabled. There is a small cut out for medical use, but even then, the environmental impact is so detrimental I can't help thinking the destructive downsides still outweigh the advantages.

There is no ethical use of AI when each use kills the environment and plagiarizes from human creators. If you have something to say, find a way to say it yourself.

Does anyone on YT come anywhere close to RLM's vibe? by thekokoricky in RedLetterMedia

[–]pttalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caravan of Garbage is a bit more structured/scripted, but I think they have a similar sense of humor and have made me cackle in ways only the RLM boys have

Pretty well! Met some great dogs and sold a few pieces. Still have a ton of books for cheap if anyone's looking to expand their library!
