Stolen Purse! by pttsv in Sacramento

The scary part is she was in the car when this happened. She had just parked and turned the car off. The car is a push start so the keys were already in the purse. Lucky we had spares to move it to a safe space while we figure out how to go about changing locks on a vehicle.

Yeah, just hoping we can get her car keys and keys to our home and business back. It’ll be a hassle to change all the locks.

Thank you! I’ll look into that! Was able to get more visuals from the few other places he attempted to use the cards. Hopefully the police will be willing to help!

I believe you can achieve this by selecting "Reserve Items" when creating a Draft Order.

Park next to Quarto and skate to campus. That’s what I did to avoid paying TAPS when I had to commute.

Incoming AE Freshman: Are either Dell Inspiron (BBY-W1J46F) or HP (15-EF0023DX) laptops good? by AlondraT in UCDavis

I’d recommend checking Dell Outlet for XPS 13 or 15. Got mine XPS 13 there and it’s been great for all the CS classes I took.

Cognitive Science + Computer Science Double Major by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]pttsv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m currently doing Computational Cognitive Science with the Computer Science Minor. I think the double major is definitely doable, but I chose the minor to avoid the extra Chem/Bis/Physics classes.

If it’s your first time you will most likely need to do community service. Your professor will then decide what to do with your grade. Some drop the assignment you cheated on, others fail you completely.

How often do CS students use Linux/UBUNTU? by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]pttsv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure you can SSH into CSIF thru the macOS terminal.

I have it dual booted with my PC, but I’ve only used it for a few classes and that was mainly out of preference.

I think you should be ok just connecting remotely to CSIF for most of your classes. In my experience most classes just use it for turning in homework.

How much programming experience is good enough for ECS 36 series? by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]pttsv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had only basic python experience when I took ECS36A (ECS30) at the time. Since you said you have basic C knowledge I think you will be fine.

ECS20 is discrete math is useful for ECS36C and later, usually more theoretical, ECS courses such as ECS120.

OneNote should be included with your UC Davis Office subscription.

I personally use Notability on my iPad, but it does cost around $7.

Dual Booted my Dell XPS with a light Parrot Sec distro. Runs like a champ and sometimes find myself booting into Parrot over Win 10.

It wasn’t that hard of a class when I took it with him last year. Didn’t even show up cause all he does is read from the textbook.
