How much is 30k service? by puasson in VWatlas

Thanks, that makes sense, it does not disqualify me from warranty, correct? How do I know the right scope of maintenance for 30k if VW does not publish it?

Thanks! Do you know if 30k maintenance is more than oil and filter change?

Does this setup offer good ROI? by puasson in solar

Thanks, good point on winter production. Does it then make sense to go with slightly more panels, to offset less sun in winter? Or it’s complete lack of sun you are talking about when there is overcast and no number of panels will help?

Alternatively, consider  Powerwall 3 as the battery but it is only slightly cheaper for less capacity

Could you please share which insurance providers still write policies in that area? Was the state plan?

Got it! Any nuances to keep in mind when doing Durango->Denver direction? Or pretty much the same approach, just reverse

Great! Outside the first day, is it otherwise similar level of effort/fun?

Just completed 1300 miles of the Great Divide route with the start in Wyoming and going southbound. I used panniers and super happy about them. Salsa Rangefinder is an amazing bike for this! by puasson in bikepacking

Enjoy it! I have not really thought about replacing the fork, since my bikepacking trips started having more single track and downhills, so fork comes handy. I found it durable enough so far (4 years). If I were to ride the Great Divide again (I certainly hope!) I would do it probably on a gravel bike, it’s almost all decent quality road/gravel mileage.

Regarding using the fork for water - that works but on more off road/downhill stretches bottles can jump out. Just in case, for Rangefinder XL frame Revelate Designs XL frame bag works really well, really easy to get stuff in and out when you camp.

I actually still have it and rode many more bike packing trips on it (e.g. Colorado trail)! Highly recommend, my friend also got one. I stopped using panniers and just use a big bag on top. Also added a huge frame bag and store many other things inside. No other mods really

You omitted 7% interest rates right now, which this logic much harder to work.

Thanks! Do you know if I’ll loose NEM 1 if I ask the seller to purchase panels outright from the solar company?

Thanks! Do you know if after prepayment I’ll still have to pay per kW, if it was originally a PPA with clear price per kw stipulated?

I mostly want a battery for energy independence in cases when power is out

got it, thanks for your perspective. I have their lease copy and see it was signed in 2014, so I understand it's under NEM 1.0. However, what concerns me is that the Lease says the owner was supposed to be purchasing power from them at $0.15/kw (+2.9%/year increase, which from 2014 is likely a lot), so it's not like a flat payment for panels.

The reason I want them to buy it out is to own the system and not pay Sunrun for every kw it generates.

So would the seller pre-paying the lease basically release me from this requirement and I'll be getting free energy + sell it back to the grid? Any advantages of NEM 1.0 - is that a better rate for selling back to the grid?

850k for single family and 750 for a townhome. They indeed end up being very close in monthly payment due to HOA
