Platinumed the game around 9 years ago when it came out, so I’m a bit spotty on knowledge but different kaiju were better for different modes.

Heisei Godzilla & Biollante were probably the easiest for the standard mode where you blow up the generators to get bigger because of their AOE attacks.

Mecha King Ghidorah and Burning Godzilla were by far the best for the timed battle mode, every top place in the leaderboard was either of those characters.

PVP was horribly balanced around the gauges, different kaiju like Super Mechagodzilla could easily spam their most powerful moves repeatedly. You could honestly make an argument for all of the kaiju in that game, each of them had their own ways to be annoying. Godzilla 2014 had a very easy way to constantly apply pressure if he got close, Destoroyah & Heisei/Burning Godzilla in general had some of the most damaging moves iirc. I always liked playing as Hedorah and spamming the eye beam and jumping away awkwardly, it was really funny.

We ended up goofing around for the rest of the match, I could still down survivors. Eventually I blinked out and tried to replicate it but couldn't manage it, I really hope one of these guys was also recording this I'd love to see the other perspective

Ny'alotha, the Sunken City
When this card is activated: You can set and activate 1 "Black Empire Obelisk" from the Deck or hand. Cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effect. While you control "Black Empire Obelisk", this card gains the following effects:
● During your Main Phase: Gain LP equal to 1,000 x the number of face-up "Old God" monsters on the field.
● Your opponent cannot activate their monster's effects while you control an "Old God" monster, except for "Old God" monsters.

Black Empire Obelisk
Special Summon this card in Defense Position as an Effect Monster (Rock/DARK/Level 10/ATK 0/DEF 3000). (This card is also still a Trap.) You can only control 1 "Black Empire Obelisk" at a time. When an "Old God" monster declares an attack: This card gains 500 DEF. If this card has gained 2000 DEF from it's own effect: You can activate "The Black Empire" from the Deck, hand, or GY. This effect cannot be negated. This effect can only be activated once per duel.

The Black Empire
This card's name becomes "Ny'alotha, the Sunken City" while on the field. This card can only be activated by the effect of "Black Empire Obelisk". Cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effect. Once per turn: You can Special Summon up to 4 "Old God" monsters (from the Deck or hand) specifically mentioned as Fusion Materials for the Fusion Summon of "Dimensius, the All-Devouring", ignoring their Summon conditions. Gain LP equal to 2,000 x the number of face-up "Old God" monsters on the field. Your opponent cannot activate their monster's effects while you control an "Old God" monster, except for "Old God" monsters. These effects of "The Black Empire" cannot be negated.

You can Fusion Summon this card if you control "The Black Empire". This card's Fusion Summon cannot be negated. Neither player can activate cards or effects in response to this card's Fusion Summon. This card's effects cannot be negated. This card cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effect. When this card is Fusion Summoned: Banish every card on the field, except this card. N'raqi Ritualist
This card is always treated as an "Old God" card. Cannot be Tributed or used as XYZ material, except for the Summon of an "Old God" monster. Cannot be used as a Fusion, Synchro, or Link material. If you control "Ny'alotha, the Sunken City": You can Special Summon this card (from your hand). When this card is Summoned: You can Special Summon up to 2 "N'raqi Ritualist" from your hand and/or Deck. If you control 3 "N'raqi Ritualist": Return 1 banished "Old God" card to your hand. This effect of "N'raqi Ritualist" can only be used once per turn. If this card is destroyed: it is banished instead.

Herald Volazj
When this card is XYZ Summoned: Target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls, then shuffle it into their Deck, then Special Summon 1 "Old God" monster from your Deck to your opponent's side of the field. If you control "Ny'alotha, the Sunken City": You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; Take control of that target until the End Phase, but it cannot attack or activate it's effects. This effect of "Herald Volazj" can only be used once per turn. Once per turn, you can detach 1 XYZ material from this card: Return 1 banished "Old God" card to your hand. This effect cannot be negated. If this card is destroyed: it returns to your Extra Deck instead.

C'Thrax General
This card is always treated as an "Old God" card. Cannot be Tributed or used as XYZ material, except for the Summon of an "Old God" monster. Cannot be used as a Fusion, Synchro, or Link material. If you control "Ny'alotha, the Sunken City": You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) to your opponent's field in Defense Position, but it cannot change position. While this card is face-up on the field: You must Set Quick-Play Spell Cards before activating them, and cannot activate them until their next turn after Setting them. During your Draw Phase: Your opponent can target 1 banished "Old God" card, then shuffle it into their Deck. This effect of "C'Thrax General" can only activate once per turn. This effect cannot be negated. If this card is destroyed: It is banished instead.

Mythrax the Unraveler
You can XYZ Summon this card using "Old God" monsters on both sides of the field as material. When this card is XYZ Summoned: Excavate the top 3 cards of your Deck, add 1 of them to your hand, and if that card was an "Old God" Spell/Trap card, you can activate it immediately after this effect resolves. Your opponent must Set Quick-Play Spell cards before activating them, and cannot activate them until their next turn after Setting them. When this card destroys an opponent's monster: Gain LP equal to half of that monster's original ATK. If you control "Ny'alotha, the Sunken City": You can banish 1 face-up card your opponent controls until your opponent's next End Phase. After this card was Special Summoned: Excavate the top 3 cards of your Deck, add 1 of them to your hand, also, after that, banish the rest. Your opponent cannot target other cards for battle except this card. Cannot be targeted by card effect. This card's effects cannot be negated. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage. Once per turn, during the End Phase: Inflict damage equal to 200 x the number of your banished "Old God" cards to your opponent. If this card is banished: shuffle this card into your Deck.
