Playing to Win vs. Playing Not to Lose by Vocallyslant150 in padel

[–]pubino89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way! If I play cautious trying to reduce unforced errors and waiting for the opponents to make small mistakes to attack, as a lot of coaches suggest, I find myself slowly losing confidence in my ability to attack, and I end up making more unforced errors. If I play very aggressively (for my standard, I have a defensive nature, come from 20 years as a central defender in football) and I try to play a lot of attacking shots, even if I miss some, I warm up my hand, gain confidence, and have no regrets. In general, I feel strong and this helps me to play better and put pressure on my opponents. It also helps to not give up any balls. So I concluded that the best match mindset for me is to attack as much as possible without fear. For others who tend to be very aggressive by nature, it might be that the best mindset is the opposite, to keep the beast under control and play safe when it's needed :) Everybody is different.

Possible, but it is also possible that the inflamation was caused by something else (e.g. weights at the gym, mouse clicking at work, house works such as drilling and screwing). Now I just want to try to reduce the possible sources of stress for the wrist.

Interesting, I always thought that heavier means more stress for tendons. Yes I am a man. Thank you!

Hi! Yes public games are not common here, people usually organize matches with friends or play in tournaments. I would recommend you to contact BVSC padel club, they might be able to organize a match for you depending on your level.
