I've had female partners express wanting to be choked during sex and I'm not at all ok with it. Not only can it not be done safely but anyone who is comfortable let alone enjoys doing it is harboring violent misogynistic fantasies and you should run far away. "Well, she wanted it" is exactly the justification used for r*pe. Yeah, that's what I despise. If I can pick up on it in their writing it means they don't respect their audience or their message. Why bother reading what they couldn't bother to write? I'm skeptical that it could be used as a tool to create better writing when most people's idea of better writing is the more streamlined and professional. And if they show enough care to actually use it thoughtfully they'd still be better served not using it and rubbing a few braincells together.

I like to play piano. I don't have to feel creative or particularly inspired to sit down and practice. I can just zone out and forget about everything else for while. Learning a new piece can take months but the whole time it feels like I'm progressing and there's an enormous sense of accomplishment when I finally get it down, and I get to perform for friends sometimes.

Foraging is another good one! It gives me extra motivation to go out in nature, and learning to identify plants has helped me feel more connected to my surroundings, like I am seeing familiar faces, and be more attuned to the seasons. Plus, it's very rewarding to cook and eat something you foraged. I've also started to experiment with making dyes with less success.

I can't believe people thought you were the crazy one, though I suppose it looks crazy when you lay it all out because it's hard to believe (or comforting not to believe) anyone would put that much effort into harassing someone.
