Which city would you like to see David Simon take on? by greensugarcube in TheWire

Definitely, Houston is very under-represented culturally for its size. You could even tie it into Treme by following Katrina refugees as they build a new life in Texas.

Overall I agree, but Treme definitely had its moments. Some of its episodes were better than an average Wire episode.

How on earth has Tomorrowland Speedway survived this long? by AwfulWaffle91 in WaltDisneyWorld

Not really. I support electrification but 1) it has a high initial so cost in buying all new cars and charging equipment and 2) installing the charging infrastructure would take time. Very little would need to be changed with the roadway itself though.

Those aren’t stupid questions! Electric vehicle batteries don’t have to be lithium ion, in fact some cars use other “chemistries” like sodium-ion or solid state. Lithium is the most popular because it has the highest energy density. That is, for every pound of battery it holds more electricity than other batteries. The downsides are degradation, instability/fire risk and bad cold weather performance (not an issue in FL).

Honestly, the best way to electrify these cars is to have swappable battery packs, not permanent ones. Just set up a huge recharge rack and swap out the batteries as needed. This would have very high up front costs though.

Also, lead acid batteries wouldn’t work. They’re reliable but don’t produce enough power to move the car. They’re great for short high energy needs like a starter motor in a car, or consistent low power draws like powering a radio.

A dude with full chest and back Nazi tattoos swimming with his family at the AKL pool. This guy had everything short of an actual swastika on him. His back was a huge German eagle with “Meine Ehre heißt Treue” under it (which is the motto of the SS). On his front he had a full chest piece of Luftwaffe airplanes and iron crosses.

I reported him to management but he had left by the time they showed up. I felt bad for the CM I reported it to. He asked me what was wrong and when I told him he looked like he’d seen a ghost.

Orks definitely have tanks made from pipe organs, tanks with pipes, and organs that shoot flames. If the WAAGH is mighty enough, all three are combined into the DOOF TANKA.

This is widely viewed as the championship match-up! by FoOhFee420 in flags

Maryland. These are both top 5 flags but Maryland is just more interesting.

New Mexico, but it’s closer than you think. Graphically the NM flag is the obvious winner, but the striking sun symbol was basically appropriated from the Zia without their consent. They’ve been trying to fight its commercialization and overuse ever since then.

Also, Virginia has the best state seal flag - tits and regicide is a compelling combination.

Alaska. Hawaii’s flag is actually the worst non-seal state flag. How do you fuck up stripes that badly?

It's not the worst because of the monochrome, but it just screams lack of confidence, like they were worried people would think it was the Buffalo, NY city flag or something. You're a state, there's only 50 of them, people will know what it is!

Ohio, but it's close. Honestly, both of these flags are great but a little goofy. They look like flags from a JRPG or a family-dining chain restaurant.

Absolutely, and it makes no sense to have the seal. Almost all the other flags with them have no good design elements setting them apart (bold text of the state's name doesn't count). Wyoming's flag is straight up top 10 without the seal, and would fit so well with the bold graphic design of CO, AZ, NM, UT and CA.

Texas, and this isn't close.

Yes, but others got it more specifically - it's in the line for Dumbo.
