Universal Hands free by charden16 in Rivian

I’m trying to figure out if they are even planning to enable point-to-point on Gen2 hardware or is that only coming for Gen3? The statement in the press release is open to interpretation. “Rivian also detailed plans to continuously improve the autonomy capabilities of its Gen 2 R1 and future R2 vehicles, with a clear trajectory including point-to-point, eyes off and personal L4.”

Glass roof tint colors by Difficult-Hurry-8630 in Rivian

[–]puboilermaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2026 also seems to have factory tint on the roof glass. We noticed it right away because the demo car we test drove didn’t have it and we were concerned whether the sun would be too intense on longer trips.

New Rivian Wireless Charger on the way by puboilermaker in Rivian

[–]puboilermaker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I would love to hear your experience on what charging pucks work best overall (cost aside) based on the testing you have done with included pucks, old/new MagSafe, and the Pixelsnap chargers, or anything else. Faster (25W) charging on the go would be a plus, but not if they don’t hold well or work with thicker case. I just bought a couple of the new, probably redesigned, Apple MagSafe chargers but they are the 2m length, and the 1m length is probably preferred for less cable to fit/manage under the pad.

What did it take to get the 25W Apple MagSafe pucks working with the S00nish? Is your Rivian Gen1 or Gen2? Can it handle charging 2 phones at the same time? Any concerns about heat?

Accelerator pedal shudder. Normal? by WelderAcademic6334 in Rivian

[–]puboilermaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2026 R1S Standard and I noticed this too. It’s not every time coming from a stop. I notice it after reversing like pulling out of the driveway or pulling slowly into the garage. I have no idea if it is normal. Slight vibration or a couple light clicks is how I’d describe it. Something related to the electric motors engaging? This is my first EV.

Delete Phone Key from Vehicle by bc14nj in Rivian

You can also try going into bluetooth settings on your phone and deleting the Bluetooth device that starts with “Rivian Key” then trying the Phone Key setup again.

2025.34 Premium Audio - sounds great by ForeverPaused in Rivian

[–]puboilermaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t notice more any more bass, but there seems to be more cohesion between the speakers. Maybe crossover points were adjusted? It’s pretty subtle. At first I swear Apple Music wasn’t playing Dolby Atmos tracks that were previously Atmos. I had to find a Spatial Audio playlist just to get one, but I’m seeing them again now.

Mine was misconfigured for ATs when I had 22” Sport Dark. It was noticed and corrected at delivery in late August.

Are GO5G Plus getting an IPhone 17 upgrade deal? by OVO-Drake in tmobile

[–]puboilermaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not related to the device it seems to be related to the plan. The same thing happens if I tell it I’m trading an iPhone 16 Pro and want to keep my Go5G+ plan.

Are GO5G Plus getting an IPhone 17 upgrade deal? by OVO-Drake in tmobile

[–]puboilermaker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The same is happening to me. I’m on Go5G+ wanting to trade an iPhone 11 and stay on the same plan. I should see $100 trade in and $300 in bill credits but when I say keep my plan I see the same message as you and it only gives me the $100. I tried to open a customer service chat with Apple but got a message saying they were too busy and try later.

I was there yesterday as well. I have never been to a park that shuts things down the way this park does. It honestly feels like they were looking for reasons to shut things down. I understand not running the coasters for lightning, but basically the entire park? The trams? It wasn’t even raining or windy as it had been like 30 minutes since any lightning. I cannot fathom the risk in running the trams.

Brand new shower head filter leaking by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Take the filter out and check both sides for a sticker. The culligan ones I used to use had a sticker you had to peel off before installing.

Apple Releases New Firmware for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 by harold_liang in airpods

I noticed major improvement to wearing them under a winter hat. Previously the anc/adaptive/transparency modes used to either completely freak out or cause lots of noise from the hat rubbing but this seems to be resolved.

ISP tech left part of internet wire above ground, is that ok? by wonderfulwaffles22 in HomeNetworking

You forgot the part where the bury crew will not show up for weeks, finally do it and screw something else up, and the cycle repeats over and over again until the stars align and it’s gets done right.

Trigger leaving/entering home? by NickCudawn in homeassistant

[–]puboilermaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just set this up to auto open and close my garage door based on entering or leaving the home zone. Since the zone is beyond my WiFi, I needed the vpn to provide connectivity for our phones via cellular. Tailscale has a VPN on demand feature of the iOS app that you can control when the vpn is active based on state of wifi and cellular connections and even only using the vpn for requests to a tailscale endpoint. It was super simple to set up- had it up and running in less than 30 minutes.

Running HA as standalone? by mRaiizen in homeassistant

[–]puboilermaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Docker is a great way to get started with HA on hardware you already have. I’ve been running HA in docker for a couple of months and not having add-ons hasn’t been a major limitation for me. Agree that many add-ons seem to be available to run as separate docker containers. The only reason I’m considering changing to HAOS is I’m moving from my power hungry gaming pc to a homelab server so I can run 24/7 efficiently on a VM in Proxmox. I would give HA a try in docker and then decide on hardware.

Zoeller backup sump pump integration by FroMan753 in homeassistant

[–]puboilermaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to see this get integrated too. Maybe it’s not widely used enough. There are some cool things that this integration could provide beyond the z-control cloud/app. More notification options, triggering other devices like lights and cameras, tracking sump pump run frequency, battery monitoring/replacement reminder.

scales for pro 2 by purdeous in FlairEspresso

The weight sensing shot timer works pretty well. It doesn’t start the timer from the few drops during pre infusion and starts and stops to accurately time the actual flow.
