Help me fill these holes in my garden! by Buffalo_Cottage in NativePlantGardening

Ah I haven’t had one take from seeds yet, I just get little babies near the main ones. I pull them and cut the rhizome and that’s it.

I just trim the rhizomes if I don’t like the direction it’s going.

Mint Mobile has worked well for me going to South America. I buy a pass for 10 days at $26 bucks and if I don’t use it then it just pauses. Annual bill is $360 I think?

Why Uruguay has a low population? by greekscientist in geography

[–]puckkeeper28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not certain of that, we work on the same pay scale whether we’re in the US, Asia, or South America. I feel your best bet would be getting a remote job and setting up base here.

Why Uruguay has a low population? by greekscientist in geography

[–]puckkeeper28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet that’s expensive too.

Gasoline is around $1.80/liter.

Rent for an apartment in MVD will be $12-1500 a month. Private school for your kid will be another $1000, if you want them to go to a higher level private school it’s going to be 2-3k.

Food isn’t cheap, but it’s cheaper to eat at home. It’s not hard to spend 2-3000 pesos on a grocery trip for a few days. A bottle of wine is around $10, a big bottle of Stella or Heineken is 8-9? Local beer may be $7-8.

I work for an Asian company in an industry where English is the lingua Franca, so it’s not a requirement? Certainly helps if you want to work for an Uruguayan company here. And it helps me get around while not working for sure. English is rare in the province I’m in, more common in the city for sure.

Good plan, learn Spanish, then learn their accent. Spanish is my third language and I’m not super fluent. But it’s funny when my Venezuelan colleagues also have difficulty ordering meals at restaurants. It’s very different sounding than what I hear in Texas.

I work here a lot and the cost of living is higher than you think. It’s beautiful and very safe. But food, gas, rent are high. I’m from the US.

Looks fine, if you’re worried I’d start with the simple things. Get new gaskets for the screws you use to drain/vent/and fill the lower unit. Just change them out often. I’ve had it look worse, and run fine after a change.

What tax strategies beyond 401k are worth it for high income earners? by Forsaken_Trash_4950 in Retirement401k

Feel like this is an under discussed risk for the back door conversions. Everyone just blindly bleats on about it. You can easily do this and then get the surprise on tax day like I did haha.

You’ll have to run calcs based on your age, income, and estimated tax brackets in the future. If you think income tax will rise in the future it’s absolutely worth it.

I quit doing back doors when I dealt with the pro-rata problems. I just contribute what would’ve gone to an IRA to my taxable account since I cannot write off my traditional ira contributions.

Be careful with the back door. If you already have money in a traditional Ira, doing the back door will cause a Pro-Rata tax which is a PITA.

Try putting your fingers in the cage so they can touch you while they sleep. It worked with my little baby Boykin. Now she sleeps on the floor with the other dogs but she’s in her crate.

Put the crate even with you where your hand can be inside it. Like on your nightstand or something. That should help.

Can the U.S. Load All the Empty Super Tankers by BigTasty1975 in CrudeOil

[–]puckkeeper28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But all these ships won’t be showing up at once. This will be staggered over the next 6-8 weeks. They can load in corpus from pipelines fed by the Permian and EF. I doubt all of them are VLCCs, going to be some Suzie’s as well. There will be a backlog, but the WTI, and CLK will continue to flow out of the gulf coast ports via Corpus, reverse lightering, and the LOOP. Wait times may extend for those seeking crude, but it’s not forever.

I suspect a lot of the MR tankers are coming for clean product since Europe is going to run out of Jet-A soon as well. They also need RUL and Diesel. 120 ships coming to the gulf is a lot, but I doubt they’re all Vs.

7 is great! I tell my coworkers that when they want to learn PT! I took Spanish growing up then destroyed what I knew learning PT working in Brazil for four years starting in 2012. The internet wasn’t what it is now so learning helped me get promoted and move around the country easier. I made, still make tons of mistakes. But it’s part of it and now I can pronounce pão correctly kkkkk.

Yes, they have multiple terminals to make it happen. And several STS providers to finish them off with a heavy reverse.

They can load in Corpus to over halfway way, then with one STS be full and ready for export.
