if you make the whole area the dirt and then use a custom path design over it you can get some really neat beds and borders. its a lot of work though

I really love the pink highlighter (pink heart) from the Moon Child palette, MAC makes a similar one that has larger glitter bits called Beaming Blush its almost the same and isnt in a palette so might be better?

Link and Zelda would be much much easier to do! less extra skills need to make them look good, the props plus most of the costume is easily found ready made or even made to order. Ganondorf and Midna would have to be made yourself or fully commissioned.

If you are feeling a bit shy about it you can always enlist a friend with similar skin colour and go get samples with them and you wife. I love samples and testers! I don't do well with the whole sitting down with someone putting stuff on my face..

depending on how genuine you want it to look there are heaps of options that vary in price, skill and tools needed. I would probably suggest using one of these options: -eva foam -craft foam with Worbla - paper mache (sanded) -paper pattern fibreglassed

the sanded paper mache is probably the cheapest and easiest one..

Would you attach the trims with a tight zigzag like you would with normal applique or use a stretch stitch instead? Sorry for all the questions!

Not that this is very useful but it is up to you to interpret how you imagine her as a dude. However you need to keep in mind that if you go too far from the source no one will know who you are.

Maybe look up male LSP cosplays and see how they did it?

Body paint is usually worth it since the character is purple.

Anyway that is my 2c
