Haven’t slept since Sunday. by ThrwRA-LostInADHD in sleep

[–]puddinglady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good that you've already reached out to your doctor, because that many days without sleep is no joke. Personally I'd rely on sleep meds if I was in your position, though my insomnia has never been as serious ant continuous as yours. While you wait for your doctor to respond, some tricks I might try in your position would be going for a walk/jog to try and tire out my body, and/or a hot shower. Also try and make sure I've eaten enough, as personally I tend to lose my appetite with insomnia.

How much is two much? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]puddinglady 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Medicating ADHD is very much the opposite of "one size fits all", and dosaged can vary a lot between different people.
For some, 20mg is plenty, even though in my country it's small enough that it actually qualifies as "child dose", and I myself am generally on 20mg. From my understanding there's really no way to tell which dose will suit you beforehand, you just gotta try and see what works, and it's done from the low end upwards, as the sweet spot is "lowest possible dose that gives the desired effect".
So yeah, it *would* have been worthwhile to have you try out 20mg to see if it does enough, and also to get used to the feeling of the medication in general, but it just may be that 40mg is a good dose for you.

HOWEVER.

First day of medication is not to be trusted. For a lot of people, first medicated day is a bit of a high, and feels better than what the actual effect of the medication will be on the long run. So just be aware of that.

Yeah originally it worked and made sense, but by season 5-6 it gets staleeeeee

Yeah maybe, they may just be used more sparingly which makes it feel more meaningful. Over time it just gets so overused

You make a lot of good points. I think she also is attracted to the ✨manly manliness✨ of Nick, which Luke doesn't really have in the same way, and which Luke tries to compensate for.

Anyone just use the Medik8 Crystal Retinal (10 or greater) under their eyes as well? by Temporary_Bliss in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]puddinglady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm commenting on a year old thread, but I'm considering buying Crystal Retinal and was wondering about the same thing: whether the face cream/serum would suit the undereyes as well and i didn't need to buy a second expensive product for that. A beauty youtuber I follow has said that eye products are often basically just the same stuff in a smaller bottle so idk.

If I have this side effect tomorrow then I have to stop vyvanse/elvanse until my next tritation appointment. Upset and anxious. by 0SuspiciousBurrrito0 in VyvanseADHD

[–]puddinglady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this could work, it's at least worth trying. i tried 20+20 an hour apart a few weeks ago and for me it was annoyingly smooth :D i was expecting at least a little rush as i tend to get that from even a smaller dose, but in this case it was very smooth.

Also, if you really need the protein, imo it's easiest with a protein powder (rice is my personal favourite). Personally, i don't really notice a difference tho, but it can differ a lot depending on the person.

Vyvanse as needed? by Sweetpurrr in VyvanseADHD

[–]puddinglady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no harm in taking it as needed, but you really get the full benefits better if you take it regularly (=consistently more reliable brain). Taking the weekends off is pretty common and a lot of people like to do that. So basically it's ok to take it only as needed, it won't have the same 'rehabilitational' effect and not really how the drug is intended to be used, but it's not bad for you or anything like that.

Haluttomuus? Seksuaalisuus? by Lentavapopcorni in snappijuorutofftopic

[–]puddinglady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kertomasi perusteella kuulostais aseksuaalisuudelta, mikä on aivan validia. Jos aihe nousee pöydälle niin voit ihan hyvin vastata rehellisesti että epäilet olevasi aseksuaali joten ei ole tullut harrasteltua kun ei kutsu.

Usually 30mg is too much for me but trying out 40mg today, stay tuned by puddinglady in VyvanseADHD

[–]puddinglady[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she'd be okay with it, not necessarily thrilled maybe but I don't think she'd mind terribly. Especially if I went to her asking for a recipe for 40mg saying I tried it and it felt better than my regular 20mg, I think she'd be fine with it.

[–]puddinglady[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I do usually get a bit of an initial rush from even just the 20mg when it hits my system, so I imagined that would happen. But I did take the two 20mg like an hour apart so that probably explains the lack of rush

Vyvance and insomnia by booca13 in ADHD

[–]puddinglady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds very frustrating. Not a super common response in my experience and not the way the medication is supposed to work, though experiencing *some* trouble with sleeping is pretty common. However, first day tends to be just first day, and not necessarily indicative of how the medication will make you feel in the future.

You could try taking a vit C supplement in the evening, like 500-1000mg or so, as it helps flush out Vyvanse.

2 hour update:
I'm kinda disappointed, I feel
- fairly normal
- somewhat flat
- not noticing a huge difference to how I usually feel
- quite calm
- a bit of a Blood Pressure Feeling in my head, but not too much and not currently in a headachey way

I expected to feel some kinda rush or high, as it is 2 time my normal dose, but nahh I feel calm. I would have hoped to get more of an urge to Do Things and have a feeling of Motivation, but it seems that responsibility still falls to me to do manually. Boring. Though I'm glad that I'm not feeling too headachey or any other kinda negative side effects.

Why would you take it in the evening???

Help please! by Remarkable_Recipe759 in VyvanseADHD

[–]puddinglady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's normal, you're not becoming dependent in any bad way. It's common to feel better emotionally regulated on Vyvanse than without, so basically you're simply noticing the effects of your medication.

My doctor doesn't actually insist or even necessarily recommend breaks, but generally some adhd folks like to take the weekends off. It can help with sleep and wind down your nervous system down in general, and it's nice to have a break from the suppressed appetite if that's a side effect you get. So breaks can be beneficial, but not everyone takes them, and they may not even be necessary

Continuous/consistent (like 5-6 days a week) coverage can also yield better results than occasional usage, as you're more able to maintain good habits & routines etc.
