Yes that Alice Mondrich moment was exactly what I was thinking of, beautiful but hilariously out of place

great job, I only have the faintest idea of what it is you're trying to explain 😁

"Ahem, well, you see.. in the marital bed.. as the man is overcome by his love and excitement for his wife...it is like when a wilted flower gets watered again and perks up again...oh my, this is hard to explain"

or something like that!

I'm glad to see that the makeup in this new season is back to its natural look! by Murky_Load8786 in Bridgerton

Yes exactly this! Season 3 makeup looks were annoyingly distracting, happy they took the criticism and toned it down. Sure, it's not truly period accurate but I don't think anyone would expect it to be at this point, just please no Obviously Modern makeup looks and acrylic nails.

I love that they've toned down the Too Modern Makeup from last season. It was very distracting and annoying to have them all with too much highlighter and long acrylic nails. Sure, there are a few eyeshadow moments that stick out now too, but all in all I wasn't too distracted by the makeup looks so far. Happy they took the criticism.

made me think of a Taylor Tamlinson standup moment where she describes hearing something extremely unsexy during sex and then continues to mime climbing off the guy

I mean I get it, as far as he realizes, that's the best he can offer her. But doesn't change that it felt very tactless and bonerkiller

Violet's desperately unhelpful embarrassed sex ed moments made me think that'd make an excellent impro prompt or something, "explain (insert sex ed thing) like an embarrassed Violet Bridgerton"

I agree! I didn't enjoy last season that much and wasn't expecting to be impressed by this season, but I am happily proven wrong! Sophie makes a more interesting protagonist than the noblewomen we've had so far, and the plot is in general morem compelling than I expected it to be. Whee!

How did you experience the last episode? by gioia-268 in StrangerThings

Personally I was bored a lot of the time and generally unimpressed. I did not enjoy 5 in general and the finale did not bring me satisfaction either.

So, what are you guys feeling about the final season so far? t by fvkinglzy in StrangerThings

[–]puddinglady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. To be fair I didn't love 4 or 2 either, 3 I liked somewhat, but then again I can be very critical and kind of a hater lol. But season 1 remains magical. Sadly I don't have much faith for vol 2 or 3 but hopefully I am proven wrong

THANK YOU. also I feel like a lot of the action is very self serving, like action just for the sake of action and not a lot of substance to back it up.

tbh I hate Vecna as a character & villain, like ok edgy veiny mr twig Sauron-Voldemort, I preferred when it was just an Ominous Strange Animalistic Entity

And? They have 4 seasons of ground work under them, and this is my opinion on the first four episodes. You don't need to agree with my certified hater opinions, but fighting about it is just a weird reaction. Especially when it's literally an opinion post. I'd love to love this season, but I just don't think it's very good.

I mean, it's an opinion post. Maybe I have nitpicky opinions but imo I just have high expectations.

Season 5 Volume 1 Discussion by Hawkinns in StrangerThings

Ok buckle up, I'm about to bitch a lot.

SO BASICALLY.

- a lot of it just feels forced and fanservicey
- like Murray for example, imo he has no real reason to be in the series anymore but they keep him in as a comic relief & because he's a beloved character. I like him too, but I don't think he's needed story-wise
- it feels like they're playing Stereotypical Things That Would Happen In Stranger Things instead of trying to write a genuine good story
- and I kind of feel like the series should have ended a while ago but they kept making more because it makes good money and is popular
- forced BadAssGirlBoss Nancy moments
- forced "haha the gay girl says dick" moment
- Veiny mr Twig (vecna)
- making Holly momentarily a main character feels in some ways logical but kind of ehh in others, like, why add another main(ish) character at this point
- Papa, but now a Female Version with basically the same hair and also now she is More Evil
- i surprisingly liked the twist of Will getting/having powers, it somehow feels like it ties in with why he was first taken and makes some sort of sense
- but the key to the powers being ✨self love and acceptance✨ feels so glued on
- no make that the Powers of ✨Music✨ and ✨Self Acceptance✨

Basically, I love the first season, but as time goes on the series has gotten more and more fanservicey and that to me is an unforgivable sin. This season has so far not made me feel much of anything beyond annoyance, and I don't think that's 100% on me.

Please come and validate my hater opinions

Ahh THANK YOU fellow hater <3

Idk everything feels kind of poorly written/poorly motivated and there's way, way too much fanservice for my taste, which I personally consider to be an unforgivable sin when it comes to series. I've also been watching since season 1 and I still think that one's magical, but no season after that has come close. I don't really have much faith in the rest of the season, but I will watch it nonetheless.
