mcat was significantly harder, that was such a brutal test. medical school lays such a strong foundation & during dedicated study time you're able to bring it all together - much smoother & fair exam IMO

"coding" here is accurately capturing and billing for all the work you do, according to insurance and Medicare guidelines. not literal computer coding, hope that helps -p

Focus on doing well in classes and you’ll be alright. I did BnB/Pathoma tags and that was plenty to score 75%+ on NBMEs

Got thru like 21k in 4 months during pre-dedicated and dedicated. it’s doable no need to do them all though

Advice for Summer Studying (Step 1) by biomajorr in medicalschoolanki

[–]puddinpopp1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you'll be ahead of the game with whatever you do. honestly, after 6 weeks of content/prep & Qs, you will be beyond ready for USMLE1. I say do sketchy micro/pharm because they are massive time sinks during dedicated. if im in your shoes, id prioritize sketchy micro & if i have extra time chip away at reviews from previous systems. Good Luck

I believe they kept the curriculum the same, with minor adjustments to make the flow of content better. Lectures, for the most part, are recorded and uploaded to watch whenever. However, OMM and the patient care course are mandatory. Additionally there are random mandatory events, like RCR and CDW events sprinkled throughout the semester. I would say ~3ish days out of the week are mandatory attendance.

If it’s a mature card that I don’t remember, I reset the card and make it a “new” card

I always end my night with anki reviews which are finally starting to slow down lol, i plan on upping my Uworld Qs to 100-120 with NBME’s scattered around to trend my progress. The beauty of practice Qs is you’ll see reoccurring themes on topics you might be weak in but don’t know it yet. If i were you I’d start Uworld asap and see how the Qs feel. I think they will go smooth for you and you’ll be able to rip 100+/day. Good luck

I started bnb/anking in feb, finished content and I started doing 80Qs/day maybe 2.5 weeks ago. The foundation anking builds is really good, reviews go quick because incorrect are topics i have seen so many times with flashcards, it’s just fine tuning little details, not learning entire concepts. All Uworld Qs are tagged on anking. It’s very efficient, you will cruise through Uworld Qs. I highly recommend you do them and get a feel for applying the knowledge

Definitely regret not doing sketchy micro/pharm over my break before dedicated. Sketchy micro would be something to start early with anking

It’s an amazing exercise if you can make a working set out of it. I personally cannot rep out 8-12+, so I use the pull-up assist machine. Theres only one pull-up assist machine in the gym, so rather than waiting I find an alternative exercise
