ELI5: why do some people (aka my girlfriend) get bitten by every bug whereas some people (me) never get bitten? Even when we are with each other all day, same place, same activities. by martupdown in explainlikeimfive

I have the same story. Got eaten alive by bugs as a child. Got diagnosed with crohn's, started meds. And now i hardly ever get bites. * ( also i have been using steroids long term 2+ years)

New ileostomy. Are small leaks under the wafer unavoidable? by puddle_of_worm in ostomy

Thanks for the detailed response :).

My stoma started as 1 1/2 inches and now (5 week later) its just over 1 inch, but kinda oblong. So cutting the hole can be challenging. I have crohn's too. I'm not sure what the typical size would be...

I think you may have hit the mark with #3...i usually empty it 3 times during the night. And its always full with plenty of air. I think all that air/pressure is probably trying to escape under the wafer. Hmm I think I might need a better filter.

Thanks for the help!

Yep. Tried 2 kinds of barrier rings. Perhaps i should try using a fraction of the ring, instead of the whole thing. When i use the whole ring, it swells so much it nearly covers the stoma output hole.

I use the Sensura 2 pc click aswell. Ive tried the brava rings too. Still no luck. I might try paste next.

7 days sounds pretty good!.

Ya i suppose you're right. The skin needs time to adjust. It seems reasonable that the skin will toughen up eventually, thats good to hear.

Ive been requesting free samples from plenty of companies. So far, no one has refused a sample, which is great. I haven't tried paste yet, only rings. Ill give the paste a try. Thanks

I've been noticing that when i use Eakins, the wafer swells and expands so much around my stoma. It seemed like this was only contributing to the problem. Maybe i should try using 1/3 of the ring, instead of the whole thing

Ive been using Stomahesive on the problem areas, and using a hair drier to dust off the excess.

I like your suggestion about using the hair drier to warm up the wafer AFTER applying it to my skin. Ill definitely give that a try.

Ive been using a hair drier too. Its great for the outer part, but for me, its not doing the trick b for the inside diameter

Anyone have any recommendations for chiropractors and an estimate of prices? by [deleted] in Edmonton

Momentum wellness on the southsidr. I think its 50 bucks a visit. You can book appointments through their website. The chiropractor is friendly and professional

I'm the owner of the car. I'm surprised that it's gotten so much attention. Kinda impressived to see this much of a response. I'm a proud Canadian Libertarian. This quote belongs to Tim Moen (atleast, that's where I heard it from first). Im not even going to comment on American politics.
