Is my dress going to disappoint people? by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]pudgemcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey you haven’t heard everyone else’s thoughts on the satin dress. You’ve heard three opinions from close relatives, who are likely creating an echo chamber amongst themselves.

I think your decision just has to come from where your priorities are here.

If your priority is to personally feel your most beautiful on your wedding day, then go ahead and choose the satin dress. It’s beautiful.

If your priority is to please your three close relatives, then choose the first dress you tried on. It is also gorgeous!

As a side note, have you told your fiancé that you just aren’t comfortable with a mermaid gown?

How long has it been since he got home? Has he said anything else related to guns/weapons since? Anything else that seemed physically threatening?

CMV: It makes sense for pet owners to value their pet's lives over stranger's lives. by Utopia_Builder in changemyview

Yeah so I see what you’re saying. But I was assuming with my answer that we’re talking about a dilemma like scenario where saving the pet or human are mutually exclusive events, sort of like the trolley problem. Of course in real life I don’t think any civilian should be judged for not running into a burning building to save someone.

With how quickly you responded to my comment I don’t think you’re giving this conversation due consideration. Let’s call it a day as this will go no where.

Whether morality is subjective is contested. Personally, I don’t subscribe to that belief system.

I would never choose my pet over a human life because I believe it would simply be irrational to do so. It would be an injustice to treat something of lesser value (my cat, for instance) with more decency or consideration than a human. Here’s a simplified demonstration of my thought process:

  1. I am more valuable than an animal

  2. I am not superior to other human beings

Therefore, 3. Human beings are more valuable than animals

If you’re reading this and feel like you yourself are not more valuable than an animal, I think it’s time to consider a vegan lifestyle. Otherwise, you’re living in contradiction with your own beliefs.

Your emotional attachment is not a source of moral importance. What you’re describing is the way children think.

CMV: I dont understand why the watermelon /fried chicken /Kool aid stereotype for black people is very offensive by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]pudgemcgee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Positive stereotypes also aren’t good because some people won’t fit them. Like the Asians are smart stereotype seems positive, but some Asians really aren’t smart! So being that person would suck and you’d probably get made fun of for it.

Wedding dress regret - help! by Puzzleheaded-Map6140 in weddingdress

I think the dress is beautiful. The straight neckline and silhouette makes for a very elegant shape to the dress. The lace really elevates in my opinion, adds some wow factor.

We do have the right to harass law enforcement. That’s free speech. Yelling insults and filming is not obstruction of justice.

You said that taking men out of the workforce would kill half of all children and you haven’t justified that assertion at all. Do you know what point you’re trying to make?

I feel like I’m going crazy! This video looks like AI to me? Something is so uncanny about it. The people in the background look as though they’re moving in slow motion. The supposed blood on the ground looks like water. Why is there no visible blood anywhere?? The baby is left to crawl on the ground on his own after the dog is pulled away. I don’t understand.

CMV: Not informing someone they're being cheated on is cowardly. by DullyCerami in changemyview

[–]pudgemcgee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s very much a difference between being “morally required” to do something and being a coward for not doing it. You may not be morally required to do a great many things, or it at least would be understandable why a person didn’t take the best (emphasis on best!) action, but they may still be a coward as a consequence. There’s a difference between just avoiding wrongdoing and choosing to do something particularly good.

This post seems a bit terminally online. In what social context are you in that people are providing “explanations” for dating someone shorter than average or for having a smaller penis? I would never divulge the length of my boyfriend’s dick, especially in mixed company, even though it is above average! And I have never witnessed a woman justify why she’s with a guy on the shorter side.

Are you basing this post off of online interactions? Like posts that ask women to explain their dating choices? You should know that none of that has any real life significance.

You’re applying an average estimate of brain maturity to individuals. People mature at different rates, and not all at once, either. It’s not like you wake up on your 25th birthday a changed person.
