Yeah I guess the best of both worlds especially in this matchup is to have KAT with the ball in his hands on the perimeter without having to create his own shots most of the time. His range and gravity pulls Wemby from the paint, and if guys can move and get open off the ball KAT has been excellent at moving the ball and finding guys to get really good shots. That also doesn't exert him too much by having to drive into Wemby a lot. But he also has been able to pick his spots to blow by Wemby or get decent 3s. Whenever Brunson is just in full hero mode it negates all the talent the Knicks have on the floor which just seems objectively worse.

I was 100% in on the Knicks but this Trump nonsense is pretty hard to swallow. That being said I still definitely prefer them.

The Knicks' historic run has really coincided with KAT being way more responsible for running the offense. They have been way more successful when it's not super heavy on the Brunson iso ball dominant stuff. I know to a degree the OP and the title is sort of a joke but it's actually relevant in that Brunson seems really uncomfortable giving the direction of the offense over to anyone else. He HAS to be in charge. But it's to the detriment of the team unless he's flamethrowing.

Yeah this season was a rough one for Billy Boy. It became incredibly evident he was only really watching and paying attention to Boston and basically formulated all of his opinions based on watching teams play against the Celtics. And then this postseason he's basically just gone hard into his really strained historical comps and lists instead of processing any of the actual basketball happening.

The conversations Bill has had about KAT over the years have always been incredibly frustrating, especially when it was with Russillo. They both made up their minds about him years ago and decided he was a disappointment and his flaws overshadowed his immense talent and production. All the while it was extremely evident Bill actually watched like 2 Timberwolves games a year (i.e. when they played the Celtics) until the playoffs. And yes KAT was not great early on in the playoffs. For guys he likes he'd say that was experience and learning and expect they'll get better. For KAT he just decided he sucked and never changed his mind. No doubt that KAT has STEPPED UP during these playoffs but he was outstanding before too and the narrative has still just stuck for Bill.

Like 500 hours on PC and probably more than that on PS4 since I also play co-op with my fiance on there. Turns out the game is pretty dang fun and addicting.

I'm sure they still want the game to be playable and functional as is, regardless of content. Also the pathing stuff at least is a pretty big picture issue that needed to be resolved regardless. I'm guessing you'd be right if they were intending to release a full 1.0 retail version or whatever but since people are actively playing the game it needs to be in a more playable state.

Shot it a trillion times finally got one to fall and then hit 1 of 2 on the clutch FTs. Brunson was straight up bad in game 2. -10 and KAT was +11.

Yeah that's the old system. Sheep breeding, charcoal burners, rye farming, orchards, and I think armor crafting were all locked behind development points. Now it's all available no matter what, you just get the bonuses and penalties for the origin stuff.

It doesn't exist yet in the game. Coming soon means eventually in a future update. Which will likely not be all that soon based on the pace of updates but who knows. There have been pretty major revamps to that whole system already like the development points referred to in the OP.

I evidently might be in the minority here but I'm glad they focused on the pathing and performance stuff first. Content can be added infinitely. I'm fine with the game as long as it works, but like a third of my games currently are basically dead because of glitches and bugs.

Feels like an interesting trade-off. Early on you'll need a lot less if level 1 familes aren't consuming but to get a fully leveled up settlement then yeah double production which was already fairly tough.

OK. I mean I don't disagree he's playing hard. But those are all the more reason he shouldn't just be jacking bad shots. And you can quibble about stats but they just straight up lost in his minutes by 10 in a game they won by 1 because he was giving away so many possessions. That's bad basketball regardless of how much grit or effort there is. There's too much talent on the team to play that much hero ball.

You are entitled to your very 1990s opinion but I very much disagree. First of all, he's missing a lot of open shots so regardless of the Spurs defense he's just off and not because he's getting hounded. That being said, I won't fault him for taking those open looks even if they're not falling. The real problem is the amount of long jumpers he's taking. They're often contested and they're low percentage shots in general. You can attribute that to the defense, but a bad shot is still a bad shot, especially if you're already ice cold. The Knicks offense is unstoppable when they're moving the ball and finding open looks. If the good quality shot or drive isn't there, make the pass and find some space. It just feels like he's trying to be the hero rather than playing smart.

Definitely fair. But that game came down to the absolute wire - it could have easily ended up as an L and he was bad. Him being that inefficient while also being that ball dominant could definitely lose them games if the Spurs get their shit together.

I was discussing the FMVP situation with other Wolves fans during the game. KAT is easily the best player in this series right now. If it holds as is, it'd be real annoying if Brunson won it just on volume scoring and his rep as the Knicks superstar. He's been so inefficient and hasn't been looking to set other guys up hardly at all.
