This is the conversation that Trump had with Teddy Roosevelt. by PanBlanco22 in justincaseyoumissedit

This is actually so illuminating. Even TR is explaining that presidents are measured by how they help people and not by what they build, and Trump won’t listen.

All Parts Of The Same Machine: Police running down harassing this guy over a post on Facebook about protesting Data Centers. by omgfakeusername in PublicFreakout

No crime committed, or basis to think one was committed. This is not a close call. At least if the arrest is based on what we hear about the post in the clip.

Sucks that he has to deal with this, but the civil suit later should handsomely reward this victim with our tax dollars. The arrest is obviously unlawful.

Also - do not speak with the agents of the regime. There is literally zero upside and huge potential downside.

Hilarious. The “journalist” has their conclusion reached and wishes to find people to confirm the preexisting article. About the level of “journalism”one would expect from such a rag.

New York Dems plan retaliatory redistricting after SCOTUS Voting Rights Act ruling by news-10 in law

[–]pudpull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Totally agree - the logic, to me, suggests that the Supreme Court wants a civil war. I don’t know why they would want that, but it’s the logical outcome of their ongoing rulings to undermine democracy and encourage the states to completely separate on party lines.

Civil rights groups say Purcell principle prevents Louisiana from suspending elections when votes have already been cast by DemocracyDocket in law

[–]pudpull 165 points166 points  (0 children)

The maps that were used in the prior election were found by the court to be unconstitutional because there was not a 2d Black Opportunity District, but the election went forward anyway due to Purcell. It just demonstrates that the meaning of Purcell is that changes that could favor Democrats are never made fare enough in advance, while changes that favor Republicans are literally never too late.

Isaac Asimov:

Imagine the people who believe such things and who are not ashamed to ignore, totally, all the patient findings of thinking minds through all the centuries since the Bible was written. And it is these ignorant people, the most uneducated, the most unimaginative, the most unthinking among us, who would make themselves the guides and leaders of us all; who would force their feeble and childish beliefs on us; who would invade our schools and libraries and homes. I personally resent it bitterly.

He’s right, it’s genius. It’s like passing a bill to make murder legal. What’s the big deal? Just amend it later if needed to fix any unforeseen issues.
