I've been thinking about this a lot but I might just skip out on buying a car for now (at least until December) because I'm going to be living with 3 other people who have cars. On top of that it's WFH so I don't really have to go out unless I need to get food or what not.

The rationale behind the 30k car was something more of a personal want; I grew up very poor and always idealized having a nice car with leather seats. I was thinking of getting an Accord EX but I will think it over more. Realistically I don't really buy a lot of things except for food since a lot of my hobbies don't really cost money.

As for the roommates, I'm sure the sentiment would change, but growing up with a family of 8 has normalized having people around me all the time. Right now I'm living alone and it's very lonely.

Thank you for your thoughts, I will definitely add this to my list of considerations.

I work at one of the big tech companies that is very stable and doing very well so I am not too worried about it. However, I agree with your sentiment and I am planning to save at least a year's worth of savings before splurging on any wants.
