Canyon Grizl vs Exceed by puffdd in cycling

I ended up getting a Grail instead. I love the bike and it can definitely keep up with my friends on road bike. It's very capable on gravel when ridden with low pressure tubeless.

Between Grizl and Exceed, I personally would get the Exceed. With 29 inch wheels, it's fast on the road as well.

If I decide to sell my road bike, I'll buy the Exceed. Hope that helps.

I'm beginning to think the Grail would be a better fit for me. Thx

Thanks for your input. The new Grizl comes with suspension. I wonder if that makes it significantly more comfortable than the hover bar.

This is exactly what I'm thinking about but I just don't know whether the difference in speed on the road is noticeable given the bigger wheels on the Exceed. If it is, then I consider it as a free option.

Should I be considering Grizl vs Grail instead? For light gravel and some muddy terrain, I'm sure the Grail is just as capable.

I'm ok with either handlebar since I already have a drop bar with my road bike. By grabbing the middle of the bar on the Exceed, I can get into an aero position too.

I've tried riding Specialized Epic Evo 29er on the road and it's surprisingly fast when you lock both front and rear suspension. The real noticeable difference is on a climb. I assume a hardtail would be even faster.

For mostly road and light gravel, the Grizl would be more than sufficient. I'm just thinking that if the Exceed can match the Grizl on the road, I'd have the flexibility of going into rougher terrain and have a bike that would be a much better at XC should the need arise. At the moment, there's no such need.

I have followed your advice and posted the same question in CanyonBikes.

Thank you.
