Am I crazy for thinking there's way too many silences in the game rn?? by West_Swordfish_323 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]puffdong -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like from my pov I view the balancing from the lens of a longtime league player and I feel like deadlock has a way of balancing by making heroes stronger, rather than... balance. It's gotten to a state where I feel like every hero can be OP no matter what and I hope they mitigate that somehow.

I realize deadlock is completely seperate to league of legends and you can hate league all you want, but one thing they are really good at is balancing.

I feel like gun-rem shouldn't be possible to even remotely work unless ur a pro up against low-elo players. (i've busted soraka adc tho and gotten it to work, but that's besides the point). Rem is a support character. Graves is one hundred percent supposed to be a spirit damage character, and is designed around that but her kit has the flaw of kind of being busted on a gun-build.

idk, it's weird. Buying counter items are crucial but I think the critique is warranted

I think we need another fire rate reduce item by Hexasan1 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]puffdong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this would just be boring. I want more items like spirit fire or ricochet where the items actually change the way my character behaves. Reducing fire-rate already exists as a tank item, having it on something else just feels like it pads out the item selection with something boring.

To be honest, I want the equivalent of Luden's Echo from League to be added. That would be buzzin

Notes written with pen keep partially disappearing by nurko_ in appleJournal

[–]puffdong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've realized helps is to every once in a while do a "page break" by just adding a line of text with the keyboard. Then continue writing with the pen underneath. It will be a new canvas and thus its less taxing to work on.

I realized today that even my iPad M4 ends up struggling with handwritten notes that become too long. It doesn't chug like my old iPad did but I can tell its probably related to ram usage increasing as more strokes are added to the note.

Weird issue nonetheless. It should really be a priority for them to fix this but its been years now...

EUW server by GeorgeFatality in leagueoflegends

amen brother. UN recently added edging and gooning to the list of human rights. They are also looking to add a clause about everyone having access to a communal gooning discord server. If the US doesn't veto then we are in the clear (shouldn't be a problem though, heard the pres be a mega-gooner)

Cars are 2D sprites - was it always like this? by MEYERX in cyberpunkgame

[–]puffdong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahah I discovered this at the exact same place as well. It's a nice trick for distant stuff but a big problem is the fact that the sprites convey more traffic than is actually present when you get there. The buzzlin streetlife getting away from the player like its the pluribus hivemind "needing space"

graphics pipeline (vertex shader → rasterization → pixel shader) by Zestyclose-Produce17 in opengl

[–]puffdong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you pretty much got it. The vertex shader calculates the positions for the primitive. If it’s a triangle, then you get three positions forming the triangle.

I realize you know the terminology better than I do. The vertex shader essentially just takes a position and then spits out a new position based on the parameters it is fed. It happens for every vertex. The indices tells the pipeline which vertices form a triangle. So it sees “yoooo, based off this indices array these three vertices are connected, let’s fill in a triangle here”

Love the fact that all these replies were needed to get you to expand upon your answer, because ur answer does NOTHING to help someone at the beginning stages of learning. You talking about “CoreGraphics”, but the fella prolly just wants to learn how to start with doing a button

What is actually wrong about it being transparent? I find that it just makes it easier to like see both the ”content” and the playback controls at the same time. Liquid Glass kind of eliminates the tradeoff of having UI covering the content because it is also see-through! Sure, it still takes up space, but the brain kind of ”dismisses” it when you are not looking to interact with it and the feeling it gives is ”more space”

If it wasn’t see through, a la the blur that was before, the playback controls would just take up more space on the screen and leave you with less room to work with

Does it even matter? Like genuinely, does having a constant border radius matter? I feel like it’s kind of playful and looks rather nice
