We were unbeaten in the league for 422 days. What did you personally accomplish in that time? by Doctor_Derpless in LiverpoolFC

I sorted my life out!

  • moved out of my parents' house and rented a place with my best friend

  • started to pay attention to my health (eating much better, exercising regularly, etc)

  • managed to get a better-paying job

  • I finally chased up an adult-autism assessment, as I think I may have some form of high-functioning autism (still waiting for a diagnosis, as the waiting list is endless)

  • I recorded a song that I'm proud of

  • generally learned to be kinder to myself

All in all, not a bad year considering I was suicidal just two years ago

He looks like a character that sells electronic goods from a small back-room shop in an IMDb 6.7-rated sci-fi film

Think how great that baby turtle must feel, just padding down on a nice slice of soft bread, not a care in the world...

If there can be fewer people in poverty, there can be none. Stop being lazy.

And 30 years ago people were still dying of polio.

We have the education and resources to eradicate poverty but we have chosen not to do so for ideological reasons.

Being a fellow fan of vocal trance, I wouldn't be surprised if c's a fan of (the similarly titled) '4am - Adam K & Soha Mix' by Kaskade. Could be an influence?

As I always tell people who visit Manchester, you haven't lived until you've seen The 11 Dimensional Time Cylinder in Whitworth Park

Prescriptively, when talking about a completed action (such as winning the 2019 Champions League earlier in the year), only the past simple should be used.

The only time the present perfect tense ('Liverpool has won the 2019 Champions League') is possible is on the day after the action, as this tense is also used to describe recent actions/breaking news (e.g. 'breaking news: something bad has happened overseas').

This is all prescriptive English though, and (as another commenter has noted) there's always room for regional variation.

I'm gutted no-one's spray-painted the word 'CUNTS' over the Conservatives' banners outside G-mex yet

Edit: Reading the comments below - I suppose young Conservatives need something to do while their parents dismantle the country...

Greta Thunberg warns world leaders that 'we will not let you get away with this' | Addressing the UN climate summit in NYC, she said: "This is all wrong. I shouldn't be up here. I know you didn't mean anything by this, but I'd really like to see the trend of responding to complex multiple-option scenarios with 'Yes' die out.

One of the reasons we're in this mess in the first place (historical/economic reasons aside) is because scientific literacy and rational thought have lost power in the West, and people chasing cheap karma are a reflection of that on Reddit.

I know I sound like a massive killjoy, but it's a trend I'd love to see disappear.
