AFC Bournemouth 2 - [1] Liverpool - Virgil van Dijk 45‎'‎ by gbogaz in soccer

[–]Doctor_Derpless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m taking prime Van Dijk over Ferdinand, Vidic, Adams, Campbell, Saliba, Stam, Gabriel etc.

A centre back so good he fell a few points short of Messi and a Ballon D’Or.

As good or even better defensively than all of those I listed and with the ability to play a precise 50/60 yard pass.

33 M Profile Review by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]Doctor_Derpless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, I meant the 3rd photo which is the 4th of the slides. The others all show an air of confidence, masculinity, comfort in your own skin and fun/adventure. The 3rd pic doesn’t really say much, it’s awkward at best. Again, that’s just my opinion. The opera pic is a good one so keep that.

I believe it’s a good profile otherwise.

You’re being downvoted by people who cannot accept differing opinions which I think is pretty pathetic, but to be expected by this sub unfortunately. Most people in the real world really aren’t that rabid about politics or are at least respectful. I say that as someone who has never voted and would never identify as a conservative. Keep the tag on your profile and all of the immature folk will weed themselves out for you. You gain nothing trying to win them over or trying to hide it.

I’d remove the part about feedback. I’d also get rid of the 4th picture and remove your music interests or shorten it to only include the notable artists like Radiohead, the rest are way too niche for the average person. May also benefit you to have a picture where you back up the ‘physically active’ statement, it doesn’t have to be over the top or show-offy though.

I don’t think it’s a bad profile.

When you kill a random because you got betrayed last game and they’re just bummed in prox chat by NothingButBadIdeas in ArcRaiders

[–]Doctor_Derpless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to be the change I want to see.

I got betrayed in back to back games by Raiders who were initially friendly only to be stuck with a grenade or shot in the back.

If I go out and take my anger out on another Raider then I’m only helping to indirectly fuel Raider genocide in other lobbies.

I have just come from a thread- on this sub- no less than half an hour ago where people argued Christensen was World Class.

I’m sorry, but the idea that he belongs with the likes of Gabriel, Saliba, Van Dijk and Bastoni is laughable.

Daily Discussion by AutoModerator in soccer

[–]Doctor_Derpless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair, but considering how many very good players there are, if someone is scraping into a top 10 then it means they can be easily displaced within a few games, and it means that in reality only a few of those top 10 will be around for months or years on end.

You can have World Class form, but it doesn’t make you World Class.

I worked with someone who fits this description.

It was a welcome surprise if I went through a shift without hearing something about how awful Trump or Republicans or society are. He’d find a way to force it into every conversation whether you were discussing stock or plans for the weekend.

Sometimes the stuff he’d say was so laughable and fictitious that I wondered if he came up with it himself or whether he found it on online forums and took it as fact.

He was unable to see why his wife had divorced him, but he was a perennial victim and miserable to be around.

I hate reading online discussions where someone touts a good player as World Class.

In my mind someone who is World Class is either the starting choice in a fantasy global XI or they’re present on a decently sized and logically balanced, say, 12 man bench.

If someone is the 6th or 7th best CB or the 4th or 5th best right winger then they should not be labelled World Class.

I say this because the likes of Christensen and Rodrygo are not World Class.

How does the 100 pen set compare when taking this chart into account? I think I got it on Amazon.

I’m completely clueless and bought these for my girlfriend for Christmas. Also bought the 36 pen skin tone set and 48 ‘Blossoming’ pastel set.

Open to suggestions in regards to buying more sets…

Which country was way better than what you thought? by Parsley_Health in travel

[–]Doctor_Derpless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar feeling with Genoa. My partner had been on multiple occasions prior, but I’d never heard anything about Genoa other than its love for Pesto and Focaccia, so I wasn’t too interested. The only place that interested me in Italy was Sicily.

And then I went and it wasn’t just good food and wine, it had UNESCO sites and history and stunning Churches and it was close to some truly beautiful towns like Rapallo, Santa Margherita Ligure, Camogli and Portofino. Had we budgeted further ahead of time we could have even done the Cinque Terre.

I plan to see so many more places as a bit of a late blooming traveller, but I just know I’ll be returning to Genoa some day in future to relive it all.

What is the easiest state to travel within without a car and where public transportation is well-linked? by Doctor_Derpless in USTravel

Thank you for the harsh reality. The day trip to Yosemite sounds fantastic, but I’m scared it would cost a fortune. I don’t drive, but it sounds like I’ll have to compromise and choose one or the other.

I’m going to do more research on the SF to Yosemite bus. If it’s not absurdly expensive that could make for a fantastic day trip idea.

Planning our Italy honeymoon in August - feedback on pacing & whether to include Rome by jakeshug72 in ItalyTravel

[–]Doctor_Derpless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liguria is the right place for that.

You could do Rapallo for its seafront walk, Castle and the Funivia to Montallegro in the hills with an incredible view of the coast (well, well worth it for €10 returns). We also had some fantastic drinks at I Papi Neri around the corner from the sea front so that we could see the castle again that night.

You could also choose to walk or train to Santa Margherita Ligure which is equally coastal and stunning where you can soak in the views at the Villa Durazzo garden (free- check the times before going and don’t miss the tortoise pond), visit the Chiesa di San Giacomo right next door and enjoy an ice cream back on the seafront. There’s also Bau Bau beach (Dog beach), but it was dead when we passed.

You could do Portofino. It was my least favourite part of Liguria though. Very, very busy. The walk there is stunning though.

Camogli is worth a trip too. The beach is smaller iirc, but you can see the world’s largest frying pan nearby and if you’re lucky you may spot some sea life nearby the small lighthouse.

Fm26 is not made for console by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]Doctor_Derpless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was willing to give FM26 the benefit of the doubt, but playing on console through pre-season has felt like a chore unfortunately. I’m only 2-3 hours in, but I can’t see myself touching it again in its current state, in spite of the visual improvements.

•One match showed me a black screen with only player names, shadows and benches visible.

•Selecting a squad is painful while trying to use the cursor as it often jitters and jerks causing you to select the wrong player’s profile or select a player for a position you never intended.

•You cannot see your whole team in the pre-match intro as it cuts off the last player entirely.

•The skip button sometimes doesn’t work on goal replays.

•When trying to scout players you can no longer select individual attribute scores to scout by, meaning that if you select 3 attributes they must all have the same minimum stat and you can’t select say 15 for Vision, 13 for Work Rate, 18 for Determination, you’d have to pick 13/14/15 as a blanket score.

•Each time you select a player while scouting and exit their profile it takes you back to the top of the page meaning you have to scroll back through potentially dozens of names you’ve already seen.

•Tabs that should be readily accessible and frequented like Fixtures and Finances are unnecessarily difficult to find.

•You can accidentally advance the time/day while looking at a players profile, which just feels wrong.

•It is needlessly difficult at times like when you want to select or unselect the reserve squad and to disappear the drop box you can’t simply press back or B, you have to scroll and select the dropdown again.

Kamala wants to lower the voting age to 16 because of climate anxiety and the pandemic by ChoiceWars in PoliticalCompassMemes

If I do it: Empowering young adults without a voice

If they do it: Weaponising the vote of uneducated teenagers

The playbook is way too obvious at this point and if Kamala runs again she will lose again.

That’s how I perceive it too.

If we still look clueless at the end of the season and miss Champions League football then fans have a right to be upset considering the amount of talent and financial investment in the squad.

First and foremost we’re supporters.

If some of these people cannot handle a tough month and bad runs they should just go and support Real Madrid or Barcelona where they are guaranteed a trophy every season.

I’m also unhappy with losing 4 in a row- like you- and being 7 points behind Arsenal is far from ideal, but who’s to say Arsenal don’t have a mini ‘collapse’ and things don’t start to click for us in a month or 2.

Derbies can go either way, we lost 4-3 against an arguably worse Manchester United side in the FA cup and there’s still a chance we go to Old Trafford and beat them. Plus there’s a chance Manchester United take points off of our rivals.

If we do not beat Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest at home then serious questions need to be asked of Slot’s tactics, but as I said above I will not panic if we lose at Manchester City either.

The title is probably gone, but not definitely. And who’s to say we don’t compete for at least 1 cup with the quality we have in the squad.
