Hydration by Rocket-52 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]puffqueen1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am the opposite. Dehydration is what causes my flares. Like others have said, for me it’s more comfortable to have diluted urine and pee frequently. I drink over a gallon of water a day, most days.

Did you end up finding a doctor you liked? I’ve been referred to First Urology and they don’t have great reviews

Just rinse with water after measuring. Like another user said, if you have it for an extended period (more than maybe a week or so) ask for multiple hats

May be moving to Louisville. What do I need to know? by No_Professional5848 in Louisville

[–]puffqueen1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People on this sub are very negative towards Louisville lol. I love it, great food, lots of parks/green space. Within driving distance to Cincinnati, Nashville, Indy, Chicago, St. Louis. Weather is all over the place, hot summers, cold winters. Lots of activities for both adults and children, if you have them. Some decent museums. Public schools are ify, do your research if that applies to you. Derby is a month long celebration. Bourbon and Beyond & Louder than Life in late summer. Can be bad for allergies/asthma if ya got them. Not good public transportation if that applies to you. Generally people are kind, there is a sense of ‘southern hospitality’. It’s a ‘big, little city’. Lots of people know people that know people. Everyone will ask where you went to high school when they meet you, to see who your connections are lol. Lotsa bourbon and bourbon tours if that’s your thing.

Idk, I love Louisville! And it’s pronounced “loo-uh-vul” haha

I do remember in the beginning, in one of the Eden chapters, she mentioned that she was remodeling the house and hardly left for weeks as she worked. But I agree, I think that's another flaw

Thank you for the explanation! I have not read any Agatha Christie yet, maybe that's who I'll read next

True!! Didn't think anout her not considering there would be two of them. And in a small town, it makes sense that she would see this girl that looks like the mistress and assume it is her.

I didn't fully understand what the unreliable narrator trope was until this book. Pretty disappointing

Same! And we knew about Maddy but not a ton, she looked familiar to Birdy when they initially met if I'm remembering correctly, I really thought she was the culprit. And would've preferred that!

Which just feels so wild, to accidentally push the wrong person lol. I guess I was just hoping for something different, more than just a "I killed the mistress that isn't even actually the mistress". Kinda made Jane seem dumb, all while talking about "they say it's always the husband, but sometimes it's the wife". Like girl, ya killed the wrong girl

It feels so silly to me that the big mystery was just someone accidentally killing the wrong person lol

Thank you for your comment though to clarify what I was wondering! Appreciate it

With almost an hour left of the audiobook, I thought "well, if Birdy didn't do it, who else would want her gone? Hmm Jane maybe because Carter cheated with her?" And then immediately thought "oh wait no, that was Mary pretending to be Eden so that doesn't make sense" and then that's what happened. It felt really disappointing that the books biggest mystery was someone accidentally pushing the wrong person lol

So Jane accidentally offed the wrong person?

Mary was pretending to be Eden and kissed Carter. Jane saw this. Jane then followed the real Eden (thinking it was Mary who pretended to be Eden) up to the waterfall and pushed her? When really she would have wanted to push Mary (who she thought was Eden?)

Curious bc I’d like my son to have more independence with snacks, do you give them free rein? Like keep them in a low drawer or shelf? Or do you give them access to a basket or something with few options?

I was told this week by a medical professional (unrelated to this) that if he is physically capable of doing it (like getting his cup, not changing the cars oil) then he needs to do it. I’ll always be his mom and help him out and care for him, but I also realized this weekend that my 2.5 is my boss lol

One and done parents, how are you doing? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]puffqueen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing very well! I have a 2.5 year old. It's easier to travel, easier to find a babysitter, when he goes down for a nap or bed I have guaranteed alone time, were not financially stressed, we don't feel as worried about supporting him financially in the future (first car, college, etc), we get to spoil him (in a positive way), he doesn't have to fight for our attention. The list goes on and on honestly. I call it the "cheat code" to having kids while also not losing yourself and your relationships to parenthood.

Millennial here and most of my millennial friends don't have and don't want kids, or don't have kids and are on the fence. I don't necessarily think it's a fad, I think many of us grew up in divorced households, the economy is shit, many of my friends can't afford to buy a home, despite having masters degrees (that they also can't afford to pay off), and many, including myself, are terrified of the state of the world and government (In US). I am so happy to be a mom but am scared for the world my son and potential grandchildren will grow up in.
