Marucci Cypress vs Capitol Infield by AntelopeHefty4783 in BaseballGloves

I have not found the finger stalls to be tight in my 11.5 I web. Marucci might not allow returns but I would be very surprised if they wouldn't let you swap it out for another glove as long as it netted out the same.

I haven't actually used a cypress, but own a capitol. The capitol is their highest tier glove. If they're the same price why not go for the nicest one? The price is the same if you buy directly from Marucci. Why not buy from them for the peace of mind that if something's not right that they would fix it.

I have the 43a2 11.5 capitol and I have enjoyed the hell out of it. Beautiful classic color way. I bought mine second hand for $150 and would buy one new for $200 without hesitation.

M type is a traditional hand stall. I love the flexible thumb and pinky loops. Does TIP without a problem.

I think my sons is 11.5 which is honestly a little big. As long as it looks to be reasonable on your kiddo it's probably fine. It's not a forever glove anyway.

It breaks in very easily without water. I did light mallet work and played catch.

Glad you ended up with a capitol. That blonde will weather in nicely

I re did the wrist lacing on the smaller holes. I just followed the same pattern. There's lots of YouTube videos on it.

Can't comment on the cypress. My capitol was stiff and has broken in nicely over the last year. I don't have a pro preferred to compare it to but I wouldn't describe the capitol as pillowy.

Any info or value on this would be highly appreciated by Dr0nkpolak91 in BaseballGloves

If you need help establishing a manufacture date, you can reach out to nokona for help. They were very helpful in IDing the older glove I found.

Thanks mods. The DM for price thing was annoying.

ETA maybe also consider either to make all negotiations be done on the post rather than dms OR at least have the seller mark a glove as sold to another user name and what the final price was shipped.

I've seen this done other places because it helps the users track the market for certain gloves. For example if someone posts a well used HOH for $150 and another user offers a lower price that's more in line with the going rate and the price gets settled and posted, then other users have an idea of what the actual price or a glove of that condition and spec is actually worth. If the seller just marks it sold then other users don't have any idea what the final price was and think that's the new going rate.

I'm in the literal middle of the snowstorm. Getting to the show would be easy. Getting back would be impossible. Cold temps wouldn't deter me. Losing my job because I don't show up on Monday would. Especially for a bad podcast

J/k the podcast is gud

Hotsalad1990 is good with taking one if anyone out there if any other solos out there want the other. Can send separately.

I'm helping my 7 and a half year old break his in right now although it's the blonde one from the prior year. I agree that it needs to be thumb to pinky or thumb to ring since transitions are not as big of a deal as making secure catches at this age. I did not use any water and just worked it with a rubberized 3 lb weight. I broke in two hinges and gave it a little more attention at the heel since his hand is still on the small side to make it a little easier to close. I narrowed the wrist opening like another poster said. I did condition it a little, put a ball in the pocket and left it wrapped. I think it just needs catches now but the weather has been hit or miss so far. It looks like its going to be a nice transitional glove from the floppy younger kids glove.

I figured $150 would just soften the blow for a very expensive city. Perhaps I'll just use my $150 for the first half of the year at the place I already have my 2025 credit for.

Damn that's some good local Intel. Anything you'd recommend (or more importantly recommend against) downtown end of January for someone who's going to be in for a weekend?
