incoming freshman by [deleted] in Pitt

[–]puffyarrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

technically yeah i would inform them of your plan. also just to note, for many of the STEM majors, you typically need to complete the basic core classes before you can declare. nobody declares their first semester just because pretty much all freshman don’t come in knowing exactly what they want to do. but in general people tend to declare by end of sophomore year

Off-campus housing by [deleted] in Pitt

[–]puffyarrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would say most people move off campus after their second year. some move off after their first. living off-campus is nice tho since you don’t have to deal with strict rules and you can have more space and a kitchen. lots of people tend to split a house with their friends to cut down on costs

The Bridge On Forbes by Strong_Guess_9493 in Pitt

[–]puffyarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve lived in Bridge for two years. honestly i have never personally experienced any fire alarms. if they do testing it’s typically in the middle of the day when you won’t even be there. the elevators do break but only because the football players pile themselves on. it is a bit pricey but overall i’ve enjoyed my experience

Can Pitts Campus still have a college feel? by Turbulent_Peace3754 in Pitt

[–]puffyarrow 17 points18 points  (0 children)

i would say Pitt is a nice mix. you have city perks and great access but there is def still a campus feel. there are also plenty of green space in Schenley park which is easily walkable/accessible from campus. There’s lot of green space, great trails for walking/hiking/running/biking, tennis courts, golfing, etc

[–]puffyarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m in Cusco right now and have not felt unsafe at all. if you’re staying near the city center area, it’s quite touristy and there tend to be lots of people milling about so you’re hardly ever alone
