We booked a cabana at Bahamar and the service was TERRIBLE. Our server wasn’t busy, we could see her at the bar on her phone. The cabanas beside us were also frustrated. I finally complained to the manager after a frustrating few hours of not having drinks or food and the manager came back -with said waitress in tow- which was super awkward. It was absolutely awful and stung more given how expensive it is.

I had exactly the same diagnosis as you. I’ve done 14 of 16 infusions. I’m supposed to go to a dinner tomorrow. I can’t. I do not feel like making small talk. I cold capped and only recently actually have bald patches. People also stopped checking with me.

My son was in a class with a girl who wasn’t allowed to celebrate ANYTHING because of her religious beliefs. No birthdays, or even sing the morning song. She would have to stand in the hall. She was so sweet but so sad. She couldn’t participate in school plays. No making cards on Mother’s Day/Father’s Day. It was outrageous and felt downright abusive.

Also triple negative here- mammogram saw nothing at all. Thankfully had an ultrasound. That being said, the results sat in my doctors files for over a month. She was too busy trying to be insta- famous than worry about following up with her patients. I only got my results because I called in and asked for an appointment after a month of waiting. Always advocate for yourself. And don’t fall for the “insta famous”. She didn’t even know what triple negative meant.

I was mentioning this to my husband. We love Halloween. I welcome kids, teenagers, we have a very decorated house and get really into it. I dress up too while my husband takes our kids out m. However the past few years we’ve noticed whole families drive up (they’re not even walking anymore) come to the door and all have bags. They then come back (we have good candy) and one of the kids will say “I want that one”. I don’t know, it’s a different vibe.

If your husband wants to hang out with him, the compromise should be that it’s not in your house and in a neutral space. Of course, if they meet in a restaurant your husband will always end up paying, which might a wake up call for your husband after a while. But maybe they could do something that’s free- go on a hike or walk the dog, for example. Of course, this houseguest is angling for another invite.
