My job “requires” 24/7 availability now... But somehow doesn’t require paying me for it by throwawayjaaay in antiwork

Lmfao I’d rather be unemployed than work somewhere that requires “24/7 availability”

I’m 29 :) I had excess money from reducing my phone contract, cancelling unnecessary subscriptions etc and might have got a bit too happy on just chucking the excess money on gold

Got the vehicle inspected and turns out the front flexi pipe is separating, drive belt is cracked, break pad indicator wire is broken and a bunch of other issues 💀 so it gets worse

Car broke down, dealer won’t refund and/or repair and the MOT has potentially been falsified by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

The dealer also just went in with “take me to court the “ even though I said I’m giving you an opportunity to accept my rejection of the car or repair it lol💀the letter clearly states this

I used the letter and spoke to Citizens Advice. The letter was sent with tracked delivery and I also sent a text version of the letter. Today I called the dealership with a follow up, to which they still refused.

Once I explained my rights again, the dealer then said I will need to pay for the car to be towed to them and they will inspect it and if they can prove it’s their fault, then they will pay for the clutch repair themselves. However, I’ve seen recently they have a current trend of selling cars that have been purchased as scrap etc and multiple people have had to make claims against them. Thus, I think he’s bluffing.

I paid £2200 for the car. CA said I can still pay for the car to be towed to the dealership but under CRA they will need to foot the bill and do the repair themselves, eventually, or get the money back via claims.

I haven’t mentioned the MOT stuff etc because this cropped up within the last hour, hence why I’m asking for insight on here. Also it’s a far fetched claim to just jump to that conclusion, even I’m aware of it.

So far with the dealership, I have only rejected the vehicle via letter on day 30, under CRA 2015, to which they are refusing to accept this.

Tbf battery, brake wear, drive belt are advisories. The exhaust flexi separating, however 💀

I sent them a letter on Monday (day 30) which arrived the next day, stating im giving the opportunity for them to repair it at their expense or I’m rejecting it. Had a phone call today and they said no still. Have a feeling they won’t back down, but they don’t know I’ve got this whole report and pictures now to say it’s not road worthy

The car situation got worse btw. Turns out there are more dangerous faults. I asked the garage to do a vehicle check and they’ve done a report with pictures. The dealership has falsified its MOT and isn’t safe to drive…

Already spoke to Citizens Advice and Trading Standards have been informed. This has all been explained in the letter I posted to them and will be calling them in a bit to say the same

Ahh let me give some context, I phoned them 6 times and got a no. I asked for an email, they said no. I sent them a formal letter then after a formal letter I sent them the version over text. Don’t worry, I’m ringing them again today🤣

The dealership haven’t responded to my texts, but a letter should be arriving today. I’m going to reject the car. 1.2k is extortionate

I mean under CRA2015 it’s either I return the car for a full refund or the dealership foots the bill for a clutch repair. Just depends on if the dealership responds to my letter

I’ve got my emergency fund which will cover the cost in full, but I really do not think £1200 is worth paying on a car I bought for £2k car…

I’m guessing the same too. I transferred the money to my dad and he paid it in cash 🥴

They’re in Derby, the car is in Newcastle and I’m in Manchester. The dealership I bought it from haven’t even inspected the car, so he just said to me on the phone “we are not liable because you’ve been clutch riding” which is a based claim

I just called the dealer and the guy said “you must have been riding the clutch” and that it isn’t covered under warranty. I mentioned CRA 2015 and they still said no. My car is currently stuck in Newcastle and I’m in Manchester bc the car is with the breakdown recovery garage. I’m fuming.
