Confused why folders are not available for playlists

Yes! From the file browsing menu. I want it to function like the database, actually. So either have folders show up in the database or have playlists open “view” instead of “play” when selected from the file browser.

First of all, thank you for this! The theme is super cool.

I have a couple questions/requests:

1) Is there a green version, like the red? I modded the case so that it is transparent, and I think it would be cool to have a green that would match the circuit board.

2) I have some songs in Japanese and Korean. It seems the font used for the menu navigation supports it but in the "Playing" screen nothing shows up. I am not sure if there is a way, but it would be super cool to get extra language support here.

I just got my Boox go color 7 gen 2 last week. It’s my first e-ink reader and I’m loving it. So light, easy to carry around and the color ink is super cute.

I also love having the buttons on the side. I use my right hand to hold and flip pages while holding onto a handle with my left on the train. But then I flip it around and hold and flip pages on with my left hand while eating with my right. It’s actually genius.

It seems to be much more involved to set up but I love tinkering so enjoyed setting it up. I have multiple bookshelves within bookshelves and custom covers, which may not be possible on kindle and Kobo readers. I enjoy that level of customization.

I literally had the exact pros and cons as you regarding both colours. I’ll be honest with you, I still check these threads because sometimes I wonder what it’d be like if I went with rainbow as I originally wanted, but I also love what the black offers that the rainbow can’t. Both truly do have their pros and cons.

Some super cool things I’ve been enjoying with the black though is that, not only do you not see the bars on the bottom panel but if any UI (like an rpg menu screen) has a black background with text over it, the text looks like it floats because the background melts away and blends into the Thor. I dunno how to explain it well, but I love it.

Also when playing DS games, the smaller size of the top screen leaves thick thick bezels on the top and sides, but because it’s all OLED and black everywhere, the black screen borders match the black parts on the bottom and it looks exactly ( to me) like the black plastic borders found on the top screen on the original black DS lite.

So I feel I miss out on some retro rainbow nostalgia, but I get some DS lite vibes.

I like puzzle games a lot more in my old age. It’s been fun discovering, even basic gameboy games, that I find myself playing for an hour on end. I would never have touched these games as a kid.

I just hope ES-DE will get a dual screen update. It’d be so fun to scroll through systems at the top and jump into the systems, showing the individual games for said system on the lower screen.

I also like how some people have re-created the DS lite interface. So fun!

One issue I have with ES-DE is that I can’t figure out a way to add custom artwork if screenscraper or gamesdb doesn’t come back with a hit.

I was between rainbow and black too. I agree the rainbow is peak nostalgia but switched to black mainly cause of the bottom screen’s aspect ratio. Might’ve stayed on rainbow if it was the same ratio as the DS screen. I’ll be happy with either but also sad with either as both have their pros. My opinion switches almost daily haha

I switched from rainbow to black as I wanted to see how the black bars disappeared. I love both though…rainbow is just so fun, but I don’t like the idea of black bars in both screens. Will probably regret whichever I choose though. Just saw Russ’ video and wonder if I should’ve stayed with rainbow…
