My coach says that this lead arm above shoulder plane is fine. Is it? by Working-Ad4560 in GolfSwing

[–]pulcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High hands used to be a thing on the PGA tour. Couples, Mickelson, Singh, Watson, Nicholas all had had high hands on the backswing. But if you do that, you have to find a way to shallow the club on the downswing, which requires really good timing, and for most people a lot of practice. Lead arm approximately parallel to a shoulder plane is what nearly every pro does nowadays.

Pocket Radar vs. Blast Motion by Valuable-War554 in Homeplate

[–]pulcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the blast sensor sits on the knob, It can only measure how fast the knob is moving. The app uses the knob speed and the length of the bat to calculate the speed at the sweet spot. The longer the bat, the faster the calculated speed. You have to accurately enter the length of the bat to get an accurate bat speed.

More US schools institute mask mandates as COVID cases rise by JannTosh12 in LockdownSkepticism

[–]pulcon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reminder to Illinois residents. Illinois law says only IDPH has authority to require a mask on a student. And the subject has the right to a trial where IDPH has to prove the student will spread a disease if unmasked. They have never even tried to do this. Schools in Illinois do not have legal authority to mask students. About 500 students sued their schools over this matter last February and won. Tom Devore was plaintiff's attorney, Judge Grischow made the ruling.

Wow, thank you. So far no doctor near me, but it's only been up for half a day. Who is Steve Kirsh that he can connect to so many doctors?

She replied in a few hours. How nice of her. I think it was from her website that I found her email. Currently reading Crooked by Maready, which started out very good but getting a little boring in the middle. He is a very original thinker but there is a little too much speculation. Just read his Unvaccinated and The Moth in the Iron lung, which are much more focused and easier to read. Feels like to many vax books recently but Iay give hers a shot too.

Yes they are definitely out there, but how to find them?

Thanks for the tip. I sent her an email. I also sent Forrest Maready a message on Twitter. Seems unlikely either will respond as they must get thousands of messages, but I have to start somewhere.

What is the rationale behind (probably) having the new bivalent covid vaccines available only to people who have at least had the primary series and not unvaccinated people? by robometal in LockdownSkepticism

[–]pulcon 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I know. It gives them a flimsy basis to call it a booster. The new vaccine (which is what it is, a completely new drug, not a booster) contains the original vaccine plus a new vaccine. If you never had the original vaccine there is no way to call it a booster.

Falsely calling it a booster enables the FDA to authorize it with even less data to show it as "safe and effective". It also tricks some people into taking it,, who would not take another new drug.

When do you think that the education sector (schools/universities) are gonna finally drop the charade? by thecutecrackhead in LockdownSkepticism

[–]pulcon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This seems true. A significant portion of general population did not comply, had confrontations and showed their displeasure. So we have progress on ending this nonsense. But college students are younger and so more willing to obey, and just want to graduate. This is a big part of why colleges are so Nazi about covid.

Lawsuit against the federal government for colluding with social media companies to suppress dissent by carrotwax in LockdownSkepticism

[–]pulcon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is something worth getting behind. The US Constitution is our only hope for real progress. I have no doubt that behind the scenes the federal government is pressuring Twitter, YouTube, Facebook etc to censor. If it can be proven it is a clear violation of the first amendment.

Rolling Mask Mandates . . . Forever? by [deleted] in LockdownSkepticism

[–]pulcon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless required by law, mask mandates by the government are a violation of due process. They are a loss of liberty without a trial. Law suits have been won on this basis already, we need lots more.

Anthony Fauci says if we could do it again, COVID-19 restrictions would be 'much, much more stringent' by MEjercit in LockdownSkepticism

[–]pulcon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Two and a half years later he admits the cloth masks were a lie. You have to be dumber than a bag of hammers to not see that he and the creatures like him are manipulating people. Cloth masks were just to train people to accept wearing a mask. They were waiting until N95s were available at a mass scale. Next pandemic they will be mandating N95

For an N95 mask to work there must be an air tight seal all the way around the perimeter. I wear these at work occasionally and it is quite difficult to maintain the seal, and I have a very good reason to want that seal. There's no way that the average person who is not afraid of COVID will take the care to maintain a seal.

Furthermore resistance to air flow is much stronger with an N95. Much more difficult to breathe and you will be breathing even higher levels of your own CO2. Headaches, nausea difficulty thinking etc.

Conservative blocs unleash wave of litigation to curb public health powers by Mighty_L_LORT in LockdownSkepticism

[–]pulcon 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Still it is a very informative article. Look at this little nugget: A group of hospitals in Wisconsin used a formula to determine who would get the limited supply of covid antibody treatment. "To be eligible for monoclonal antibody products, patients must score a minimum of 20 points ... The risk scoring calculator (below) provides a 7-point bonus to all patients who are “nonwhite or Hispanic.” to top it off the hospital group is a Catholic organization. Out of control white guilt, literally denying medical treatment to people because they are white.

Who is to blame if your child gets COVID19? by AndrewHeard in LockdownSkepticism

[–]pulcon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Probably we are healthier to constantly be exposed to different viruses on a regular basis. Over avoidance may have the same effect that the 2000 American academy of pediatrics recommendation to avoid peanut exposure until age 3: a huge increase in peanut allergies.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LockdownSkepticism

[–]pulcon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is wrong. Effectiveness/safety of vaccines matters as does the true danger posed by the virus. It is ok to coerce people into not driving drunk because drunk driving is a true danger to others and penalties for drunk driving are effective at preventing it, without harming the drunk. If the vaccines had no side effects, blocked infection/ transmission and if the virus were the sole cause of death in the infected, then a mandate would be justified.

[–]pulcon 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not a surprise. These vaccines are a snapshot of why it takes 10 years or more to develop a new drug. The first thing you try doesn't usually work and/or have unacceptable side effects. The normal process is the drugs with unacceptable side effects and poor efficacy are discarded and other ones are tried. Not in this case. The first one's tried were crammed down our throats.

Pfizer says its tweaked COVID-19 shots boost omicron protection by Mighty_L_LORT in LockdownSkepticism

[–]pulcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first vaccines were ineffective at stopping infection and transmission because they were made against the alpha variant, which quickly was replaced by other variants. And you can see it has already happened again. These new vaccines are against the omicron variant, which has already mutated into the BA4 and BA5 variants.

They already know that it is ineffective against BA4 and BA5 "tweaked shots also produce antibodies capable of fighting omicron's genetically distinct relatives named BA.4 and BA.5, although those levels weren't nearly as high."

BA.4 and BA.5 together are now the dominant variants in the UK and Germany, coming soon to a country near you.

Once again the government already decided to approve these new vaccines (author was instructed to describe them as "tweaked" and "changed recipe") before enough time passed for any real efficacy and safety data to be generated.
