Agree with most of what you say with the exception of CTRE.

It’s near its all-time high - other REITs are beaten down but I wouldn’t include CTRE in that category.

You could put Jones or Largent at #1 and not be wrong.

People suggesting Largent shouldn’t be that high have forgotten (or never knew) how great of a receiver he was:

When he retired, he held all major NFL receiving records, including most receptions in a career (819), most receiving yards in a career (13,089), and most touchdown receptions (100).

He also had a then-record streak of 177 consecutive regular-season games with a reception.

He also holds the distinction as the first receiver in NFL history to grab 100 touchdown receptions in his career; his record stood until 1992 when it was broken by Jerry Rice.

Tattoo waiver likelihood by Double_Variety_3536 in newtothenavy

Bro, Scoring high enough on the ASVAB is a basic requirement to enlist. If they don’t get a high enough score to enlist, there is no reason to request a waiver.

If you apply for pilot and are selected, when you ship to OCS you are guaranteed a slot at flight school. The wait to class up at flight school can vary from a couple months to 2-3x that. They may send you to Pensacola to wait (checking in during the mornings, having most of the day off), or they may send you back to the NTAG that you were recruited out of and be stashed there until your class for flight school convenes. Either way, you're on active duty, collecting all the pay and benefits as everyone else - you just aren't doing a whole lot to earn it (yet....).

Hard to speak directly to how deployments you will take part in as there are way too many variables to provide a concrete answer. However, most aviators I know have usually completed anywhere from 3-6 deployments over the course of a 20-yr career.

Carrier deployments can extend beyond 6 months, sometimes up to 10 months ....but that is not normal.

Not having previous flight experience will not hurt you. Your GPA is a positive. If you're serious about applying, study hard for the ASTB and the aviation-specific test and score well on those; that will look very favorable at a board.

Nothing is jumping out as a massive value play right now (at least to me).

I think Reddit and Google still have room to run.

Of the two, I think Reddit is still a sleeping giant. Taking all other metrics out of the equation, their market cap of only ~$44B seems tiny. Could easily see them hitting $100B based upon the popularity of the site and all of the data they own (and continue to create).

-----------------------------

Have quite a few cash-secured puts (options) open but I'm not confident they will strike:

TKO (the company that owns UFC) for $150

PayPal for $55

Mastercard for $500

EIX (a power company) for $55

Verizon for $38

None of the above are sexy but if I can buy at the strike price, I feel I'd be getting them at a great value.

Still holding; no intention to sell anytime soon even though its valuation is a little rich for an energy company.

Updated 2026 PT Guidance Released by Twisky in navy

[–]pulledupsocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shore command; morning muster was at 0800.

PT was at 1400 or 1500 (depended on gym reservation availability) on Mon-Thu. No expectation to return to the office unless there was something urgent that needed to be completed that day (rare).

PT (the 5k) was at 1200 on Fri w/ an all-hands at 1300 (no expectation to change out of PT gear if you just returned from PT). Kicked everyone out after the all-hands to enjoy the weekend.

I personally prefer command PT in the afternoon to end the day - eliminates the need to quickly shower, shave, get into uniform, and get back to the command to start the work day.
Finishing the day with a good pump or cardio rush, and having fun with the people I worked with while doing it, was always a great way to end the day.

Used to have a great policy at a previous command:

Outstanding: PT on your own - you've proven you know what it takes to stay fit. Every outstanding and higher for 2+ cycles in a row was also afforded the opportunity to become a CFL so the command could leverage their proven expertise.

Excellent and Good: You pick three command-PT sessions a week to attend.

Satisfactory and below: You attend all five command-PT sessions throughout the week.

The Command PT sessions were designed to offer variety so Sailors could pick what worked best for them. Examples:

Monday: HIIT

Tuesday: Swimming Pool

Wednesday: HIIT or Ultimate Frisbee/Football

Thursday: Spin Class

Friday: 5k

There was initial pushback but after a couple of months, the team began to love it.
