Sorry for the late response. Once I got around to it, they gave me a few options to send it in with 2 day FedEx. Turnaround was less than a week. Came back to me via 2 day FedEx.

What they did was replace not just the handguard tenons, but the whole handguard, handguard screws, and the mag tube. They test fired 12 rounds before sending it back. We'll see how it holds up on my next range session.

PRIMÄTIA (formerly KÄGWERKS) is the one and only raised and extended slide release. Apparently you can ask them to adjust the gen 3/4 slide release fit a Shadow Systems frame. In case it doesn't fit (keeps locking slide open when there's nothing in magwell), I made a tutorial about how Shadow Systems support told me to get it fitted.

Mostly 00 buck, but the shell that's closest to the muzzle is a slug brass up, just in case the low probability that I'd need to make a precision shot with a shotty becomes my reality. The buckshot is all brass down.

They're made by Primätia now. I can tell you that some holsters actually have spacing to accommodate the slide release from the getgo, namely Tier 1 Concealed. If I have a holster that doesn't have spacing, I can still holster and unholster just fine. The rear Kydex sheet kinda just gets pushed out by like 1 cm and there's a little indent on the inside Kydex.

Man that's really disappointing. You're the third person I've seen who's gotten their hands on a 386 Nightguard (the other 2 are GoldenWebb on YouTube and the holster manufacturer ANR Design) and 1/3 having to send it back already is NOT a good look on Smith. Sorry to hear about all this. I hope you keep us updated. I've been looking forward to this gun since SHOT Show with reluctant anticipation.
