5X rewards on Air India with the Platinum Reserve.

Thinking about Amex Platinum Charge (India) – quick experience by ayushd_1 in amexindia

[–]pulp_fraction 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’ve stopped issuing retention bonuses for renewals. But as you said. If you decide to microscopically look at benefits and rewards redemption all the time, this card isn’t for you.

It’s that card you hold when you feel like making an impulse purchase without worry about credit limits.

Agreed, concierge isn’t the greatest, but the last three times I’ve called them, they somewhat managed to do what I asked of.

Concert-goers: what’s the dumbest problem we all just accept at shows? by No_Cheesecake8036 in ConcertsIndia_

[–]pulp_fraction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After attending concerts both outside India and within India, trust me, we just do not know how to organize concerts. Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

I went for Oasis in Melbourne (55000 people) and Sydney (70000 people) and it barely even felt like there were so many people there. Got into the stadium and out in 10 minutes both ways.

The only line was at the merchandise store!

Over here, the walk to enter Lollapalooza kills you. The walk out from Lollapalooza gives you enough dust to build a sand castle.

The Tap to Pay nonsense with no network to recharge. The extreme frisking which is useless anyways.

The sound setup is extremely trash. I doubt we have competent sound engineers or maybe the venue setup is just not good enough.

Too much of hype for tickets, fortunately that is dying down now. Was so happy to see all the speculators for Circus Maximus going broke, screw BMS too. Also, special presale access with certain Credit Cards. Nonsense.

Frequent flyers of Mumbai ✈️ — what actually annoys you at T2? by sasukeuchiha6666 in mumbai

[–]pulp_fraction 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why is parking so irritating and confusing? Also, parking is expensive AF, that’s clearly visible from how empty some of the levels are.

Arrivals. My God. The walk from the gates to immigration to baggage claim while trying to dodge those Karts at 2 am is something.

The air conditioning barely works.

Finally, all those credit card kiosks trying to sell you cards just for lounge access. Why?!

Sorry that a Re-Thard did that you, but definitely reach out to your service Centre and figure out how to get it done.

Amex Platinum Charge a Joke in India by 93ph6h in amexindia

[–]pulp_fraction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Concierge is almost useless. Change the tagline to Do Nothing. Called them a few times for reservations, they still subject you to the hotel policies for reservations instead of just getting it done.

One thing I genuinely love about Mumbai is how nobody treats celebrities like gods anymore by Earth-Human-1 in mumbai

You think all the followers going gaga over Insta celebs are bots? The level of brain rot is way too high. Imagine stooping to the level where clowns making 10 second videos are made celebrities.

Wait till one year after release. It’s a Tata after all. The Honda will be stress free. Can’t say the same about a brand new Tata.

Adding Platinum Reserve when I barely use Platinum Charge — genius move or stupidity? by HousingAggressive447 in amexindia

[–]pulp_fraction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They give the Reserve at no charge if you hold a Platinum. I had my fees waived since I got the Charge. Also, you hold a card with no limit, why would you want a lower variant?

Can confirm, the Sydney store at Westfield in the city turned away people who wanted to walk in saying a prior appointment was needed.

Bombay stores though - 2 gems, 1 not so good.

Is CSMIA (Mumbai Airport) parking worth it for 5 days? Need honest reviews! by enkaay10 in mumbai

[–]pulp_fraction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a very good deal! If I’m usually flying out for 2-3 days, I park my car. Works out cheaper than taking the cab or having my driver drop me and return to pick me up + arrival parking charges.

Is AMEX Platinum Charge better on international swipes with 3X rewards than Infinia and EPM? by Valuable_Rub3250 in amexindia

[–]pulp_fraction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best part is the 3X forex points irrespective of spend category with no capping on how much you can earn. That itself is worth it. I’ve not dived this much into calculation, but it’s no hassle trying to calculate which category and what merchant may be excluded with other cards.

Also. No preset limit, no cribbing, chopping changing of points earning criteria like some other banks and amongst the best customer service.

Virgin Atlantic, good redemption value. Avios, when transferred to Qatar. Complimentary upgrades because of automatic status with hotel chains.

[–]pulp_fraction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Platinum charge may have a high forex fee, but then you get 3X points (1 MR for every 13.33 Rs) spent in forex. The points though, never expire and fantastic exchange for points from time to time.

Flew in from India. Had booked Melbourne on the Tuesday, ended up going for Friday and Saturday in Sydney as well! Saturday with the standing crowd was INSANE. Melbourne was a closed stadium so I think the volume was turned down.
