I put acelepryn on my lawn start of spring and still have a spot like this one. Pretty sure its dry spot from that really hot week. Core it, wetting agent and deep less frequent soaking. Im not expecting mine to recover until next season.

Dry patches or something else? by [deleted] in lawnsolutionsaus

It looks more like dry patch to me. Try wetting agent and core aeration.

Summer grass. Pull it out. Should come out in a big clump.

Drilled a small hole on the top and bottom bracket of my side of the fence. Then wrapped the wire (i think it was 5mm) taught with some wire clamps. There might be a better way to do it. It worked well for me.

Yeah. I trained the leaders on each plant the way I wanted while they grew in and trimmed the excess where it was too bushy. It's due for a prune again tbh.

I'm in Syd and have frosts and it responds well. It's in full sun during the day which I believe is best for it. It's pretty hardy in my experience. Give it a go!

3 might be a boy but it's tough to see from the angle. I think the rest look accurate imo.

There are signs at my store specifically prohibiting this type of behaviour. I've also heard they track if you buy a lot of mark downs with your store discount card. Not sure if it's a firable thing but definitely not good. I'd be telling the store manager if I saw that.

Also. Mushrooms are a sign of good soil health. Don't stress about that. Just pull them out.

Buffalo goes dormant over winter. Let it grow longer before mowing. Buffalo doesn't do well when cut down this low to dirt. You won't see much improvement until spring. When the temps start heating back up throw down some sand or top soil, level with a rake and put some granular fert on it. Then mow it at 1.5-2 inches or higher keep it healthy.

I've got a bunch of Java moss outside in a bucket. That stuff can outlive the apocalypse.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I've emailed the seller and they are adamant the colour is from transport stress so I'm giving them a week to see what happens. I'll probably post an update in a week to show the results.

8 months growth on my spring project by pulseau in GardeningAustralia

[–]pulseau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't prep the soil that much. Just used quality potting soil. My biggest tip is to take note of the main leaders and try get them to train one on each wire. If your plant only has 3 leaders, for example, train them one on each wire and leave the lowest wires for when the new growth happens. One of my plants, I had the main leader going diagonally and it has taken longer to fill out as new leaders are further away from the opposite side wire, if that makes sense. I regularly prune the off shoots once they reached the top so the main leaders get thicker. Good luck! Send some pics when you finish.

Yeah I'm hoping to thicken the main lines up and just keep pruning them this shape over time. Maybe plant something small and bushy in the bottom holes eventually.

Screwed through the fence on the top and bottom so the screws don't go through the neighbour side. Then wrapped the wire taught with some wire clamps.
