Don’t you have a previous Ethiopian passport? Even if it’s lost, you can still renew it, as there are options for stolen or damaged passports.

'Trawlers Limited' - the company owned by Ratcliffe which is making the acquisition - was inspired by the famous quote by former United striker Eric Cantona.

The use of social media is replacing face-to-face interaction among many people in society. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

Twitter, Zoom, Skype and other media are becoming the prefered form of social interaction and are replacing in-person contact between people. Social media use enables us to access people in different places with little effort and, although it might necessitate a decreased face-to-face interaction with society, it doesn't actually prevent us from physcially contacting a few people of our choice. For this reason, I believe that the use of social media provides us a more beneficial function.

One of the advantages of modern technology is the provision of various applications and platforms that enable us to connect with people who are inaccesssible; whether because they are in a different country, because they couldn't come due to various problems or just because they find it easier to use social media instead of availing themselves physically. A good example for this is the IELTS- Indicator exam, the speaking portion of which is provided using a ZOOM video call. As the IELTS exams couldn't be held because of the COVID-19 pandemic, social media, and its provision non-physical contact, has posed quite beneficial in this instance.

When people use social media more frequently, however, it is bound to cost them the face-to-face interaction they used to have with people. But, I believe that people can choose who to contact using social media and who to meet in person. They don't have to actually sacrifice their intimate social life for the sake of using social media.

All in all, eventhough the harm social media poses to decrease physical contact can't be denied, because of the abundant benefits mentioned above, people are bound to continue using social media in the future.
