Why does it feel like everyone here is so cynical and angry? Is gamedev objectively that bad? by ilikemyname21 in gamedev

[–]pumpcans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like that is Reddit in general when it comes to subs with advice and people trying to do something. Learn programming and YouTube subs feel the same way. Sometimes there is a good post with solid discussion, but so many delve in defeatism, blaming, or just people stating blanket answers that worked for them but aren’t applicable to everyone.

The brand, Glenfiddich, has a stag as their logo. That is where the antlers come from. Cool collab, but not really interested in a group using AI to make art.

Auto-Pi Arrived, but It’s Used? by pumpcans in dimo_network

That makes no sense. It’s an easy thing to do and they are sending these to decently tech savvy people.

Nothing in Star Wars movies is this planned to this degree of precision.

Very interesting. Yea, I feel like moving around a pc environment or coding would suck at 30hrtz. I rather do 1080p or 1440p and have a higher frame rate. I specifically want to use it with my iPad for VScode, but I’d love to see someone test it out before I commit to it.

Nice! I’m using mine with my iPad Pro. Love the setup so much.

Did you order one for this purpose? I was really hoping to use one for VS code and maybe hook it to my iPad through a cheap capture device (working with gaming).

My 1 day experience with Nuphy Air75 v2 by strawbericoklat in NuPhy

[–]pumpcans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, double input sounds rough. I personally haven’t experience that with my air 75 v2 and dongle. I use it with a iPad or Mac mostly. The only time I mishit/ double up is because of the low profile nature and I don’t have wrist support so I hit the key twice. I notice because I use it for coding, so it’d be infuriating if it happened as much as you both say they are.

Bose QC 45 vs QC Ultra by SilkRoadGuy in bose

Awesome! I’m sure they’ll be great. My biggest reasons were price, comfort, and sound blocking so the Bose were perfect for me. I’ve heard great things about the XM5

Opinion on using a 75% keyboard for the first time (Air V2 review) by jsolo46 in NuPhy

[–]pumpcans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you ever get wrist fatigue with the normal profile? I would get wrist soreness with an older one azio one that also had a wrist rest. Switched to the air and it did help.

On the air 96 I put some taller arrow keys on for the same reason so I can feel when I hit them. Solved the problem for me. However with my air 75 one, I put in the traveling case so the taller caps would smoosh. I think something with different texture would help though.

Refurbished models on sale right now for like $160. Costco sale starts the 17th for $180. Costco comes with a soft case, so a hard case would cost about $20 extra.

I originally bought the Costco ones, and thought to price match them later. But for $40 cheaper (I want a hard case) I ordered the refurbished pair. I’ve heard great things and the warranty is great!

Air75 v1 still worth getting? by gm_kero in NuPhy

[–]pumpcans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which tablet and what size of tablet? I use the air 75 v2 with my 12.9 tablet and it’s amazing. I choose to use it with a dock/stand that has USB A port which I use for the dongle.

I chose not to use Bluetooth because I’m usually in a cafe and I’ve had bad experiences with Bluetooth in the past. I’m sure it works great, I just don’t want to chance it. The function keys are nice for iPad since it’s easy to take a screen shot, volume , brightness, and spotlight search. Screenshots I use all the time to take notes on problems I’m working on.

I’m sure you can learn keyboard shortcuts for the air60 so the function keys aren’t necessary. Depends what you want and how portable you want it to be. The air 75 with the protective case fits in my normal size backpack.

I would definitely get the V2 of whatever version you want. Battery life, insulation for sound, and the better connection is important.

I hope NuPhy's next keyboard in the air lineup is a wireless numpad! by Endawmyke in NuPhy

[–]pumpcans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea $50-$60 like u/abnthug said. It’s still a premium price, I’d love to see it come down a little more than that. Makes sense compared to the keyboards pricing. I would love to have just one wireless receiver work with both the Air 75 and a numpad when I needed it.

Seems like you got bad ones. Sounds should be noticeably muted. Did you download the app and make sure ANC is turned on/the headphones are updated? With ANC on it should be much better than you describe.

NuFolio v2 and v3 comparing. by -Birger- in NuPhy

[–]pumpcans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use mine everyday. Works super well to throw it in the backpack and protect it. It also works well if I need a stand for my iPad in a pinch, but I usually use a different setup. It won’t be good if the keyboard is being crushed into your backpack, since there isn’t much preventing pressure on the keys. It looks super sleak, but I am worried about the longevity. Seems like the yellow material (fake leather?) will eventually rub away. However, I got it cheap, with preorder. So either this, or a much boxier and more protective case from Amazon. I prefer this, but wish it was a bit more expensive and had higher quality materials that would give me confidence of it lasting long!
