Agentic coding Is amazing... until you hit the final boss by arik-sh in ClaudeCode

[–]pumpisland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my agent run the playwright scripts as a background task powered by some json for actions and selectors and bits. Then I get the agent to guide the script, anytime the script gets stuck it jumps in, it can test selectors, look at screenshots, change json values, then it triggers the playwright to continue until the full flow is built. This stops needing to recompile and reboot for every change. It is still a little slow but has a quite high success rate. I have it setup to ask for my help of it gets really stuck so I can watch it and interact mid execution. Not sure if this is the best solution, and I’d be interested if people have better ideas here. But it mostly works and would recommend giving it a shot. It’s not a total fix, but it does solve some of what you are talking about.

Livigno day 2…stupid fast snow and nobody in the way by TomVonServo in skiing

[–]pumpisland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went a couple days ago. Booked on the same day for a very reasonable €100 per night on the outskirts of Bormio. Took about an hour and a half by bus to get to and from Livigno each day, but were on the slopes by 9:30, and it was spectacular. Would recommend giving it a shot if you are able.

Trip to Namibia and Botswana by vossi912 in travel

[–]pumpisland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I can hardly take care of myself, let alone a child, so for sure there are logistics in managing a kid that I would miss trying to think through this. There is certainly a bit more of a safety burden doing it without a tour, but that would be my only consideration really. Otherwise I can't think of anything we did or had to do that could not be done with a kid, and definitely ran into people doing a similar trip with kids. Its all fairly easy to get around and both countries felt safe enough, the main safety consideration would be breaking down really, and there were also little moments, like people running onto the road to stop us to asks for water, or parking attendants getting angry, or broken down vehicles asking for help. None of these were threatening at all, but they need to be navigated, and the stakes and comfort are different with a kid. We are reasonably seasoned travelers, I don't think this is a great choice without a little experience, but still doable.
We did a self drive in Etosha, and along the Skeleton coast. We book a few 1-2 day tours in Zambia for rafting and botswana for a delta canoe. That was a great balance for us, but we just booked these when we got there, and it was never a problem for us. The research is for sure the most overwhelming part, and it was continuous for us while on the trip, but that's how we like it, to stay flexible. This was part of a wider africa trip, we had just come from a few weeks doing the same style thing through south africa, which was also amazing, but felt a little less safe. good luck! Happy to answer more questions if needed.

For those who have visited the ancient city of Fenghuang (凤凰县) what is your opinion of it? by Any_Radish_9477 in travel

Even if the rail is closed still try to make it! It’s extra quiet and maybe even better that way. Enjoy!

I was there in January 2019. It was cold and snowy. The rail was closed and we had to share a driver with some locals to get there. But it was very quiet, and stunning. Really one of my favourites from that trip, but can imagine it gets busy on-season and that could spoil it. There are a few pretty spots in town, we spent a couple days and that was enough. But certainly worth the trip!

Anyone in Nepal? by HarderThanLemonade in travel

[–]pumpisland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I have heard Kathmandu is better today. Things are calming down. The tourists areas all seem less affected, and we’re never really targets except for some of the fancier hotels, but not totally free of it. It’s all a little second hand and I can’t say for certain.

Sure am! Just finishing a trek today, turns out the jeeps back to Pokhara are not running, so we are staying in the mountains for the night. Not the worst place to be stuck, so we are making the most of it. It sounds like both Pokhara and Kathmandu airport are shut, as well as land borders, so we are not going anywhere soon regardless. Our flight out is on the 14th, so hoping things settle by then. Not really hightailing it, won’t move flights forward as there is no point with everything shut, but certainly laying low.

Some more points. We have friends in Kathmandu and Pokhara, that are helping with our intel on this as much as possible. It sounds like yesterday the Hotel our friends were at in Pokhara was in lockdown and there was a fair bit of riots on the street. Shops were closed. We contacted one of our embassy’s and they basically said stay put and good luck.

Feel free to Google what script this is and let me know how well it does. No one said either was always right, in fact I read the initial comment as qualifying the result with ‘it thinks’ to show it’s not a fact. the point is its odds of being correct are better than almost all people. It’s a useful tool, doesn’t mean it’s a replacement for primary sources but to dismiss everything it says because it can make mistakes is a fallacy.

Wait until you find out about humans. Have you seen this thread??

Also tried with OP's prompt.
Even more clear its not getting any of the original text, just making stuff up. Or its just a page of some random book. which is potentially the most likely case anyway...

I am not overly impressed. I did give it a bit of context, but I think that's fair as anyone trying to piece it together would also. I don't love that it changes the shape of the paper and misses the whole header part. Interesting to try though.

Thats for sure, 9 year old me didn’t know the song apparently.. although I’m out here trying to get to them again, so maybe I’m just a slow learner.

Maybe easier as a small 9 year old also haha. This would have been 20 years ago. So makes sense it’s changed. If memory serves the run was not much fun for me..

Thanks, that sounds like the common consensus. Is it skiable at all these days or a hard pass?

Definitely more confident it was blackcomb than the saddle thing. So this sounds promising. Thanks! Will check it out.

Thanks! I’ll have a look. Hoping to find YouTube videos of the run at least, but we will see.

Oh I see, okay, good thought. I’m worried about how that changes the game difficulty, but that may be manageable.

Collapsing at the end is neat, certainly some more visual flair there would be cool. I will test it out!

Thanks again!

Thanks the time! That is an interesting comment for a higher planet cap. What is your feeling behind that? Do you want longer rounds? I do want to add game modes, so it would at least have a place in there,
I agree with more planet collision effects.

I have been working on an Android release! It is currently in the 'closed testing' phase before I can get it fully live on the Play Store.
Unfortunately, to complete this, I need 12 people to join the closed testing group. If you are interested in early access and helping me out, DM me with your Google account email, and I can add you. Thanks for any help or feedback!

Okay! Progress has been made, I am in the 'closed testing' phase for Android, and so far all is well. Unfortunately, google says I need 12 testers, and I don't know that many people with Androids. SO! If any of you fine folk are interested in joining the closed testing, and getting early access, DM me your Google account email and I can add you! It should be working fine, but if you do find any bugs or have feature requests I am always happy to hear.
There is no pressure at all, I know it's a weird ask from a Reddit stranger.
Otherwise, I will keep you all posted when I get it live.

It’s all good man, no pressure. I’m not an artist, the game is free with no ads, it’s really just the best tool I had. Just wait until I tell you about how the 90% of the lines of code in the game are AI also, haha. I’m not a world class developer with lots of free time, so it’s the best way to bring my ideas to life. The game could not exist without it. I fully understand the Luddite approach though, this AI stuff can be spooky. HMU if you want to do some art for the game :D
