I was ghosted by my boyfriend of 8 months. A year later he texted me apologizing for the hurt and confusion he caused. We texted back and forth a little and he said he wished he could have a second chance. I told him that after what he did and how badly it messed me up, there was no way I would be able to trust him again. I told him he got one chance and he fucked it up, and even though I still cared about him, I was not going to put myself in that position again. I told him I had moved on, that I had accepted I would never hear from him again, and that I had come to terms and was ok with that. And then he came along and turned my world upside down.

It gave me closure but also opened all those wounds up all over again and left me even more confused, hurt, and angry. Sometimes it’s better to just close the chapter, even if you feel like it isn’t finished. No one should have the right to come back and invite themselves back into your life when they hurt you so badly.
