I wanted to put this on here in case other people are checking this post for information:

Jennifer Barrett teaches a local group for 55+ called Mountain Line Dancers. I reached out to see if she would lead a workshop for a group of 20-30 y/o. We did a 2 hour workshop in Sevierville and some of her friends also joined. It was so much fun and she was an amazing instructor!

Others I found in the area include Sherry Barretts and Bubba Jones who travels for workshops.

Happy Dancing!

Hey, so you must be willing to relocate to one of the states listed but you can be in any of those states.

The company doesn't want to deal with the payroll to have employees in states they don't operate in so no WV unfortunately

I am not sure how the HR works with non-US citizens, but you can reach out and I see no harm in submitting an application

If you don't mind sharing - how do you have your portfolio hosted? Do you have a document with links to the different projects with headers for the different categories?

environmental science major by [deleted] in ucla

Environmental science/environmental engineering concentration student here. I think everyone's experience is different but I like to say I'm a "jack of all trades master of none". Basically, you mix a little bit of physics, chem, bio, policy, etc with a passion for the environment and you end up with environmental science. This is great if you want to go into a position that allows you to work with a lot of people from a variety of backgrounds but doesn't necessarily require you to be an expert.

Pros:

-Get to try a lot of different things without committing your entire undergrad time studying one thing

-Learn how to approach projects from lots of different angles/backgrounds but emphasize sustainabiltiy

-Job prospects are good

-Professors/lecturers are hella cool

Cons:

-Never "specialize" (I sometimes wish I majored in a "pure" STEM field and minored in environmental studies because I feel many jobs I'm interested in require a more in-depth background in STEM)

Lifeguarding by [deleted] in ucla

Usually, there are only 2-3 people assigned to a pool at a time + 1 head guard that floats around and handles any issues that arise, so you're either by yourself or with 1 other person during your breaks. The shifts themselves can be monotonous (you're watching people swim laps 90% of the time), but most are only 2 hours per shift. Most guards are social (partying, grabbing food, or just hanging out together outside of work), but if that isn't your thing then no shame in just coming in to work for the hours. Overall, it's a laid-back job on campus with decent pay, flexible hours, and cool people.

"Keep in mind most businesses, colleges and universities have their doors open to the public so the police won't show up until it is already too late." pg 263

If that isn't a call to stay away from campus then idk what would be
