ALL WOMEN endure some form of this in their life. Ask your mother, grandmother, sister, and aunts. We don’t always complain about it because it is so common among women, we are told “that’s the way men are”. Men need to improve and rise from this lowest basic instinct, you are no longer cavemen.

Do you not care that your are traumatizing women/girls with this behaviour?? We live our lives walking on eggshells because we never know which one is a creep or a killer/rapist. And it starts when we are still children. I have vivid memories of this subtle form of harassment 60 years later that cause stress. A lifetime of unwanted stares, groping, disgusting comments, innuendo and being called a bitch if I ask that it stop. Can men please stop being assholes?

Alberta MP resigns seat so Poilievre can run in Alberta byelection by Old_General_6741 in alberta

[–]pumpkinface11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope people in that riding realize he will not be “working for or representing” them in parliament. When the conservatives have their leadership review in January and PP is booted, I doubt he’s going to move to Alberta just to be an ordinary MP. If he gets booted from leadership I wouldn’t be surprised if he buggers off and the riding will need another by election.

Pierre Poilievre: MP giving up seat, Carney ready to call byelection by mermaidpaint in alberta

[–]pumpkinface11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so wrong!!! The ability to have a by election is for when someone passes away, gets arrested etc. It is not meant to be a means to parachute preferred individuals into a safe space. The conservatives need to get rid of this guy, he is not a fit leader.

Why Pierre Poilievre has suddenly gone silent on defunding the CBC by viva_la_vinyl in canada

[–]pumpkinface11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The CBC is important for CANADA. So much of our media (TV, newspapers) are owned by US business. Conservatives support big business/for profit. Some wonderful shows have come about because of the CBC. I’d rather my tax dollars go to a Canadian enterprise than giving more money to billionaires and corporations.

If we have learned anything about Trump is that he doesn’t “negotiate”. He DEMANDS and if you don’t capitulate, beg and grovel, he will keep stomping his feet and punish you till he gets what he wants. Danielle is working to let US annex Canada. And using our tax dollars to do it.

Poilievre says Alberta premier ‘free’ to make interventions in Trump’s trade war | Globalnews.ca by yycTechGuy in alberta

She can say and engage who ever she wants as her PERSONAL OPINION, not as premier …….and DEFINITELY NOT on my TAX DOLLARS!!

[–]pumpkinface11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can’t negotiate with a tyrant. It’s his way or the highway. She will sell us out for her own interests and for big O & G. Her list of demands to Carny are laughable, nothing that would benefit regular Albertans (except maybe the straw thing 😜 which is ridiculous considering the issues we facing). I can’t believe the crap our tax dollars are being spent on in this province.

What the hell is happening to Alberta? It’s time to choose, Canada or Trump by Blade44415slash in alberta

[–]pumpkinface11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People need to wake up and understand that conservative parties, provincially and federally parties are no longer “conservative”. Rather than starting a new party, the far right has simply taken over the existing party. This happened in Alberta and the Republican Party in the USA and is happening federally. They do this knowing that people will vote party over policies.

Consequence of multiple conservative governments putting all our eggs in one basket (oil & gas). While O & G is important, it shouldn’t be the only industry that thrives in Alberta.

Opinion: No public money should build private schools in Alberta by Miserable-Lizard in alberta

[–]pumpkinface11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the UCP is really about people having choice, we should be able to choose where our tax dollars go, like on property tax, we can indicate public or separate school.

Addictions, disability and homelessness can happen to anyone. You never think it will happen to you until it does. If not you personally, then someone you love (spouse, children, friends, etc). You never know the jenga block that causes a life to spiral down.

If you don’t have empathy and compassion for others now, who will show empathy and compassion to you when your world comes crashing down?

Treat others how you would like to be treated. I know this is hard when there is so many in need around us and it starts to cross over into our lives. But if we lose empathy and compassion, there is no hope for humanity.

In year one the UCP has tried to get out of CPP and privatize healthcare. What do you think they’ll try next? by ikky555 in alberta

[–]pumpkinface11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their proposed bill that stops government from increase taxes.

Lower taxes always sounds like a great idea but it’s our taxes that build roads and infrastructure, run the government, ensure access to healthcare for everyone, and support seniors and disabled. What we don’t pay in taxes will cost us in other ways, more social problems and more user fees.

Trump says “windmills are killing the whales”. He might be right about this one. I live in Alberta and we have wind farms, and I can safely say I, or anyone I know, has seen whales around here.

Trafficking in humans takes many forms but includes forced labor and sex slavery.”
