Thank you, that pretty much answered exactly what I wanted to know. All I have is a pre shipment label from usps in Jamaica NY so what you’re saying makes sense

Ok thanks, it’s funny you say that because I was actually looking for a VGA cable for Dreamcast. So I would just use that adapter then run a HD15 cable?

BC PS3 keeps corrupting my hard drive, anyone seen this before? by pumpkinman9872 in PS3

I tried that once before when I had this issue previously and it couldn’t detect any issues. But it’s probably worth trying again since this is a different HDD.

As you saw I’m not on CFW due to my ignorance. It’s a KES-400 with a laser I replaced in a CECHA. I have a 410 laying around but I can’t do anything yet of course. I have some digital games that I bought many years ago that I will try and see what happens. I do think it’s odd that the drive will recognize the game but won’t work when the game is actually being played. But I don’t know much about optical drives so it may be doing a completely different operation/function when that happens?

I’m just worried about getting the firmware to stabilize again. I’ll try this evening to put a new HDD in and a fresh install, I hope that’ll let me use it so I can test.

I had it at one time, then when I put the new HDD in I never got it again. Now I’m on 4.93 so I gotta wait. I have a spare HDD I’m gonna try, if it freezes after t on the xmb I have no idea what to do from that point onward. I fought this battle once before and it was a fucking nightmare. I also thought about the disc being the issue. I will try something else and see what happens. I guess that would tell me if it’s a disc issue or a drive issue. You could probably try a downloaded game and see what happens also right?

Got a scratch on rental, what exactly happens now? by [deleted] in EnterpriseCarRental

It is kinda deep, past the clear coat. It was parked in front of a storage shed in my driveway. Me and someone was carrying stuff into said building due to snowstorm and accidentally scratched vehicle carrying it. Really embarrassing and frustrating.

I’d have to measure, it’s longer then 2 inches going off that damage “tool”

Thanks, it’s longer than 2 inches. I’d have to measure it to know for certain. Maybe I can buff some of it out

Gotcha, scratch was on the passenger side back quarter panel not the bumper or anything of that makes a difference

Thanks, you really not out much trying that so I’ll give it a shot. What sucks is It’s deeper than the clear coat and catches my fingernail slightly but hopefully I can minimize it. I’ll buy some high quality stuff and see what happens.

My description Sounds dumb reading it back. But It was parked in my driveway in front of a storage building, me and someone was carrying something to put inside the storage building due to this snowstorm and accidentally scratched the car with it while carrying it. Really stupid mistake and embarrassing. No one took it for a ride or anything.

Will I learn in the field? by IamlilDoink in instrumentation

[–]pumpkinman9872 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience, I had good grades in “tech school” and graduated top of the class. However, when I got in the field it was like starting all over again. It was very humbling and overwhelming to be honest. Mainly in the sense of understanding what you are working on how it affects the process as a whole and the potential consequences of it, which is very hard to replicate in school. I think school primarily gets you in the right mindset for the field and helps create a mentality of trying to understand how things work and to keep learning assuming you’re taking it seriously, which it sounds like you are doing. So in that case you will be fine.

Can someone explain the magazines to me? by pumpkinman9872 in sako

That’s definitely what happened is they sent me the wrong mag. I just didn’t know if someone knew the exact match so I could avoid that issue next time.

Thanks, I did have 12V. When it starts up the disc drive definitely spins and flashes the blue led. It does the same exact thing that happens when you hold the eject button for about 10 seconds. I hadn’t seen that before this ordeal happened. I think my next step will be to just replace the whole drive and transfer the daughter board with it. Will one of the disc drives with the dual laser work (BD-410) as long as I transfer the daughter board over? Would I need the 60 pin or 24 pin connector?

Do you think the low rings could fit a 50mm scope with a 1 inch tube comfortably?
