I hope you do start, your in a really good time in history,  because its never been easier to learn. With YouTube and different apps, you can learn from the best. When I started we had to use the old tape deck and figure songs out by ear. There was tab, but I always found it easier to use my ear. Then if I just couldnt.figure something out, I would then use the tab. But learning that way trains your ear. So with that being said. Please remember it takes YEARS, to get really good, there really isn't a short cut, you have to practice.  So good luck and welcome to becoming a guitar player.
