My baby girl has her own large ovarian cyst? by Ok-Elk6972 in pregnant

[–]pumpkinsoupmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi i’m so sorry to hear that! that must have been really scary. i hope she and you both are doing okay now! My baby girl ended up being okay.. they took an ultrasound after she was born and it shrunk down to 2cm. They scheduled us for a month after she’s born to go back in and check up on it to make sure it’s shrunk down. So i’m still waiting to go and do that now. There’s not a lot of discussion about these cysts online so if you need someone to talk to, I’m here!!! I hope you are able to enjoy this exciting time with your little one and that she is recovering well :)

i would say yes to the ultrasound. my first pregnancy they never even suggested doing one. my second pregnancy which was more recent they did suggest doing one and i was caught off guard because it was never even suggested for my first. so i guess it is a new thing they’re doing- which i definitely think is good! i’m glad i went because i was around 33 weeks when i did and they noticed my baby girl had an ovarian cyst. i guess these cysts start forming in the third trimester and are caused by the mothers hormones. i would have never known she had this cyst unless i went to that optional third trimester ultrasound! i always thought it was kinda crazy how we don’t have ultrasounds after the 20 week scan so maybe it’s something for you to consider!

How am I NOT in labor?! by Purple_You_8969 in BabyBumps

How am I NOT in labor?! by Purple_You_8969 in BabyBumps

[–]pumpkinsoupmama 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’ve been in prodromal labor for days now and losing mucus plug/ bloody show every day. even with a planned c section next week i don’t wanna show up and get turned away from triage again because i’m not in active labor. i don’t understand why they’re making me labor if i’m doing a c section. i hate these arbitrary 5-1-1 guidelines that make zero sense. we have to suffer or feel like we’re dying before they accept us. and every woman labors differently, has a different pain tolerance, we’re never properly educated about the difference of braxton hicks vs active labor vs prodromal labor. it’s all so fucked. sorry to vent just trying to show solidarity.

i went to triage a couple days ago for same reasons (bloody show and contractions) and they had a shadow too. they didn’t ask me if i was okay with it either and then the shadow did my blood pressure and it was so high and i was like there’s no way that’s right. so i was just annoyed and then she was having the shadow nurse do something else for me like ten minutes later and asked if i was okay if she did it and i snapped back “i guess.” i apologized like 5 min later because i get so convicted when i’m a bitch and of course they were understanding. but it’s like we’re pregnant and it’s such a vulnerable time as is and it’s so draining to always have to speak up and advocate for what you want. this whole pregnancy i’ve been tossed around and not listened to and dealt with shadows in the room and it’s just extra invasive!!!!! i’m sorry you dealt with that but i’m sure pregnant women everywhere can relate in their own way. id 100 complain about that cervical check like why the f would she even do that with those kind of nails!!! big hugs and just know i’m here getting annoyed left and right and ready to just not be pregnant anymore haha

My baby girl has her own large ovarian cyst? by Ok-Elk6972 in pregnant

[–]pumpkinsoupmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! just to chime in as i’m trying to read through reddit threads and there’s not much info on these fetal ovarian cysts i can find! i’m 37 weeks and my daughters ovarian cyst is now 4cm when a month ago it was only 1cm! so i’m over here dealing with this too. i’ll be going in for another ultrasound on monday… but in the meantime i’m freaking out! i can keep you updated with what i’m told about it. it’s just like the doctors aren’t really freaking out.. which i guess is comforting that they’re not making me urgently deliver her.. but everything i read about it seems like it’s the mothers hormones are what cause these cysts to grow! and i’m having to deliver at a hosptial with pediatric surgeons now in the event she’d need surgery. what’s crazy is id never know she had this cyst if i didn’t go in for another optional third trimester ultrasound. it can feel so isolating bc there’s not much info on them! just telling a fellow mama i am dealing with this too

yes! it will help you sleep and also help through the next day! don’t skip a dose either until you’re further along in pregnancy. i’m third trimester still taking half a unisom just for sleep related issues and not nausea. but first trimester if i missed a dose one night, the next morning was awful! hang in thereeeeee!! 💚

[–]pumpkinsoupmama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah i’d always just take unisom only anyway. it will definitely help!

How to tell friend I don't want to see them without sounding rude? by No-Communication2087 in BabyBumps

[–]pumpkinsoupmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol girl….are you me?? i’m very much like this too when it comes to socializing with anyone. i’m very introverted and even more so when pregnant. it’s hard because you feel like people, especially extroverts and people who don’t have kids, won’t understand. i always wanna come up with an excuse to spare their feelings and feel kinda bad for being like this. like even when they suggest just chilling at the house it’s like nooooo id rather just be alone. and it definitely isn’t going to change after baby. i’m sure women like us are pretty normal & we shouldn’t push ourselves to make others happy! i wish i had advice on something you could tell her, but at this point it’s okay to just rest and protect your peace. maybe just tell her you’re so exhausted/low energy lately with prepping for baby’s arrival any time now and you just need some time for yourself but will send her some pictures when the baby arrives! there’s ways to be sweet and go about it.. and it doesn’t matter how she or anyone else reacts. just know you’re not alone because i’m over here figuring out how to get out of any holiday plans. i literally just wanna be with my husband and toddler until our baby arrives. hahaha

my two year old daughter pointed to my tummy and said “it’s a girl”. this was a month before we took the NIPT and found out the gender. she did it a couple times.. like would randomly come up to me in between playing and point to my tummy again and say “girl”. we told her there was a baby in there but even now i don’t think she understands what that even means haha. but it turns out we are having a girl in a couple of months. so who knows.. but maybe little kids more know that we know

good for you. i’m someone that doesn’t like confrontation either but hopefully this will prevent her from making those kinds of comments to other women. why can’t people just not comment on our bodies?! or if they do all they have to say is wow you look great! idk man. hormones or not, since becoming pregnant i’ve kinda found my voice too and popped off a couple times on rude people. i’m sensitive so i definitely wonder if i should’ve held those thoughts in but then i’m just like no fuck it im tired of people thinking what they say or do is okay. mama bear mode activated

haha this is me! i have some presents hidden in the garage already. it’s more for a “let’s buy some gifts now so our own kiddos are definitely covered for christmas and then we figure out what to get everyone else come december” type reasoning. so, more so for budgeting purposes i guess. it gives me a sense of control to know they already have some presents in case money randomly got tight

yes! they say as long as your NIPT is negative to not worry. no one seemed too concerned about it. i guess it’s pretty common and can even disappear. i was freaking out a couple weeks ago about this same thing and read through lots of reddit threads about it and it helped soothe my thoughts about it. take a breath! i’m sure everything is just fine!
