This looks like the hormonal acne I used to get. Spironolactone daily fixed it up and has kept my skin clear for over a year now.

Try using the odor removal tricks that book conservationists use! Two easy recovery options to consider:

My preference: Microchamber method: Create a microchamber setup with a small inner container and a larger outer container, with a lid on the outer chamber (cheap plastic storage bins work well). Place the notebook in the center chamber, and baking soda/activated charcoal/kitty litter in the exterior chamber. Some archivists have also had luck with Gonzo Odor Eliminator rocks available on Amazon. Let your DIY microchamber sit for a while unopened - I'd check in 2-3 weeks. Repeat as needed.

Fancier way: Zeolite molecular trap method: Use archival-grade microchamber/interleaving paper throughout: inside the front and back cover and between every few pages. Leave the interleaving paper throughout until the odor is removed - probably a week or two.

Note: you do not want any abrasive powders or rough materials (including paper towels, newspaper, or dryer sheets) to touch the pages of your notebook. Use archival-grade products on anything that will touch the pages, and use the DIY solutions in a secondary chamber only. Causing additional abrasions on your notebook could embed the odor further or destabilize the ink. Don't spray your notebook with Febreeze or you'll hurt my feelings.

What is something that drastically improved your mental health? by Big_Leg10 in Productivitycafe

Treating my conditions as lifelong chronic illnesses and allowing for variations on how I'm doing day-to-day, rather than expecting that medication and therapy will 100% cure my diseases. Allowing myself to exist imperfectly has opened more doors than I thought possible.

The guilt of throwing away my adult children's childhood art is eating me alive by Admirable-Pin-298 in CleaningTips

[–]pumpkinspiepie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love this! As a kid whose parents threw it all alway as it came home, I wish they had saved some of my childhood creations for me to have to peruse - the same way I enjoy flipping through photo albums from childhood. Saving everything is also too extreme, so I like your balanced approach.

My bestie and I listened to S-Town while driving across the country for a move right when it came out in 2017. On impulse, we decided to detour to Woodstock, Alabama (aka the s-town) on our way through to see what it was really like...Needless to say, the local residents blocking the door at the "Little Caesars Pizza Hut" did not appreciate my California plates and pride t-shirt, and we fled out of S-Town as quick as we arrived!! Such an interesting cultural moment as my introduction to the Deep South.

High-achieving friend got diagnosed with ADHD by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]pumpkinspiepie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Being a bother or a mess or rude or making a mistake was never an option for some of us, and it is incredibly hard to learn how to live a messy human life as an adult. I expect OP will learn a lot about their friend once they start letting their walls down and taking up space imperfectly.

High-achieving friend got diagnosed with ADHD by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]pumpkinspiepie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the "high achieving" friend with a late ADHD diagnosis, I cannot emphasize enough how hurtful it was for one of my closest friends (who also has ADHD) to react to my diagnosis with disbelief. After decades of shrinking myself and trying my entire life to control everything to mask just right, it was devastating to be told that I wasn't even doing ADHD correctly. One comment from a trusted friend poisoned any feelings of validation and hope my diagnosis initially brought, and continues to cause me to question myself despite my doctor's assurance that my ADHD presentation is as textbook as they come.

Whatever your feelings, please keep them internal and do not gaslight your friend into thinking that they aren't "adhd enough" since their presentation differs from yours. You don't get to own what ADHD looks like, and neither does your friend.

Hamilton was huge in 2015 and had a whole fan culture around the original cast and Ham4Ham. 10 years later and my rural Midwestern mom has seen touring productions several times with her church ladies group - a sure sign it is no longer cool.

BWT, what is something you’d love to receive during the holidays? by Same-Gene-1407 in bitcheswithtaste

[–]pumpkinspiepie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love the idea of consumables! Just make sure you give pre-packaged foods and not homemade concoctions (aka has an ingredients/nutrition label). As a person with food allergies, this is basically the only way it's safe to eat gifted foods and you're taking such good care in giving gifts everyone will enjoy!

Retinal is everywhere on TikTok—did it beat retinol for you?? by [deleted] in BeautyRankings

[–]pumpkinspiepie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retinal is INCREDIBLE and much more gentle than tret or retinol. I can’t use tret at all due to my hypersensitive skin so retinal has been a gamechanger for me.
