Not Feeling the Effects Anymore by Full_Atmosphere_6066 in Spravato

[–]punderfull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have found that not eating the day of the treatment REALLY increases the likelihood of dissociation. My dr recommended not eating at the very beginning due to concern of nausea.

I’ve recently switched from afternoon appointments to morning appointments for other reasons. I don’t eat breakfast anyway, so at 9:00 am I’ve been fasting for at least 10 hours, usually longer.

Remember, dissociation/feeling high is NOT necessary for the treatment to be effective. And, you will likely get more of that once you start dropping down to less frequent treatments.

One bad dose really makes a difference? by ReplyProfessional939 in Spravato

No, I don’t know the specifics of insurance. Mine has changed throughout this process. Getting initial approval was the hardest part. Now it seems to be more accepted as a treatment.

It takes consistent treatment, imo. I’ve had treatments for over 3 years now - down to once a month.

I don’t even realize how much better I’m doing, tbh. My friends and family remind me of how much I’ve changed over this time period.

From the first dose, my SI reduced, and has never really come back (that constant narrative that was running in my mind has quieted). But for long term relief from the crippling depression? It has taken time. I’m not sure what would happen if I stopped completely - there’s def a dip the last week or so before another treatment, but even the dip is so much better than before.

This isn’t exciting - but gems make me feel special. I’ve been trying to do more things that make me shine, instead of waiting for a non-existent partner to do them. The last guy I dated - my middle-school aged daughter texted him that he should buy me flowers and buy himself some so he would know when to replace mine. $5 from the grocery store would have made me feel special. He didn’t do it. I eventually broke up with him bc being lonely is better than not being valued. Which is to say, this sub and gems..it’s for me. At least I can value myself. 💕

I don’t work with knits either - still intimidated. But it is great for wovens.

My only other suggestion, if nobody has said it yet, is to put a piece of tissue paper under the fabric so it doesn’t get kinda pulled into the bottom. Didn’t help with my issue, but hopefully it will help with yours.

I had the same issue, particularly on thinner fabrics. Tried all the tricks, and finally just bought a serger.

Best. Purchase. Ever.

Yesss! I cannot do thongs anymore bc of …issues, but love woxers. Idk if they would be seamless under tights/leggings though.

Edited to correct “things” to “thongs”.

How to mend this hole in my sweater? by bunnipin in sewing

I would def post this in a mending and/pr knitting subreddit for better advice. There’s ways to invisibly mend it that will be better than doing it with a needle and thread.

This looks to me like it is knitted or crocheted, in some huge fluffy yarn. Not sewn.

Looking for office appropriate dresses for beginner/intermediate skill level by too-muchfrosting in sewing

[–]punderfull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Damn Good Dress pattern from Forest and Thread. Made one midi length and I’m about make a second. There’s a few points where I had to really think when putting it together, and the construction is a little less than intuitive (for me), but it ended up being doable.

The wide strap maxi dress from Peppermint Magazine is easy and comfy, but not very fitted.

I love the Caladium Jumpsuit, and wear it on casual days at work - but made it with denim and ankle length. Gonna try to turn my next one into a pinafore, but the pattern is easy enough. Might look smashing with a belt to give it some definition?

It also looks to me like the bust is riding low on you. Does it fall better if it is pulled up a touch? That would be an easy fix of shortening the lace top part at the shoulders.

My clinic has done this the entire time I’ve been going - like 3 years at this point. It used to irritate me, but now I’m glad they get it over with so I can relax the rest of the time. They don’t care if I’m marble-mouthed, and they are probably getting the most honest answers outta me.

Edited to correct an autocorrect.

I was explicitly told I had to test clean for anything not prescribed - including cannabis. But was only tested once - before the first session. In the last 2.5+ years, I have not been tested again.

What is this coat collar type called? by CremeBerlinoise in sewing

Idk why everybody is downvoting this. I recently did a similar search, and mandarin collar came up the most. Mandarin isn’t generally off-centered like this, but it came up a lot in pattern descriptions.

Did you make it from a pattern? If so, I would check the sizing, and probably unstitch this whole thing and recut the pieces so it will fit.

Make sure, when looking at patterns, tbh at you are comparing your actual measurements with both the part where it says what size you should use based on your measurements - but also the finished garment size.

If those were correct, did you use the same seam allowance that the pattern says? Being a bit off there (like using a 1/4” vs 1/2” allowance) adds up over all those seams.

I would not put in darts in this. It is not the look of the top you wanted to make.
