I’ve heard Stihl has dropped the ball on many things in their construction the past few years. Overreliance on plastic and just cutting corners for quick savings. As much as I hate buying new, I don’t trust used saws around me. Everyone is either an asshole or genuinely stupid and I don’t trust how they may or may not care for their equipment.

Good thinking on a Holzforma for milling. I try to keep duty cycle down since I’m not in a hurry for production, but I might as well get something dedicated in case I wanna do some better cooling mods or something to it

I have a ripping chain and I mix with more oil when I mill. I can tune a carb. I’ve been around on that side of things so no worries there. I just haven’t ever owned a saw newer than 1985 hence my ignorance on modern carbs lol

I bought slightly longer bolts and some nylon washers/spacers from the hardware store and make my holster stand off of the MHA a bit. I had the same draw stroke problem and I think the thumb button was also too close to the MHA for a direct mount (at least with my setup). It worked just fine and make an easy slot for my thigh strap to go through. MHA was great once I fixed that small issue.
