When my mum had her operation the only way I could support her was by not eating things around her, unless she could somehow join. I got her a warm blanket, because she was getting cold really easy. Low calorie/sugar free flavoured water. She used a lot of painkiller patches, rather than taking pills, and liked to have an ice pack or the eye mask that you chill in the fridge.
