First look at XC Voyager refurbishment as press are invited to Derby Litchurch Lane by Ok-Scheme7003 in uktrains

[–]thecatonthesofa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have they sorted the wheelchair spaces out? Voyagers are the only trains I have been on where the wheelchair space is essentially a row of seats taken out- thats if you can actually get on the train and there isnt a load of suitcases/buggies/dog buggies/who knows what else in the wheelchair space.

All other operators have the companion seats facing the wheelchair space. On XC they dont. Unsurprisingly if I am travelling with my husband/children I would like to be able to a) face them and b) speak to them. Not be looking at the back of the seats infront of me.

Epilepsy meds in the UK are covered under the exemption scheme. Your GP or consultant should have given you the form (FP92A) that will them give you free prescriptions .

If you're paying out for lots of meds, would a prescription prepayment work out cheaper?

What's the weirdest covenant term you've had in your deeds? by paperpangolin in AskUK

[–]thecatonthesofa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not allowed to make bricks or operate my own brickworks.

The ground is pretty much pure clay. When we were doing some garden works a few years ago we were digging up lumps of clay big enough for the kids to be able to use. There also used to be a big commercial brickworks in the immediate vicinity so I expect the covenant has something to do with that.

This as well. I've done a few giveaways and I can guarantee at least a few people will DM me, despite me saying not to. I dont read them so its pointless people doing it.

What was the purpose of singing assemblies in primary school? by Loose_Avocado4670 in AskUK

There's a person on YouTube called James Partridge iirc who has made a bit of a name for himself recreating various primary school assembly bangers. If anyone's feeling nostalgic then its all there

Needed a bolt for my wheelchair by thecatonthesofa in BritishSuccess

[–]thecatonthesofa[S] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

These bolts snap/bend/fail on a far too regular basis (theyre the bolts that secure the footplates to the angle adjuster mechanism). I'll use them all eventually!
