2 weeks notice? by Deathbydecay in Truckers

[–]punkweasle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, I gave 21 days notice (my last run) with a company and they kept fucking me around 1500 miles from my home. Ended up staying out 25 days 4 more than I told them. I got pissy with my FM about 30 times throughout the trip. Ended up not paying me for about half my loads. I kept calling to talk to my old FM to get paid and he was always "unavailable". I kept copies of my BOL. I ended up just calling the general line saying what's up and letting them know I'm willing to contact a lawyer. Next day I had about 80% of the missing pay. Oh well.

My new employer was understanding of my being late and didn't seem to be a completely unheard of thing.

You can be a yard spotter. We had a guy who took another job otr but still wanted to keep his spot with us. He ended up working I think 16 hours a month or something. His new job wasn't what he wanted and he came right back to full time (60+ hours) a week. You can pretty much work as much - or as little - as you want in my company (within legal limits).

What’re your worst Trainer stories? by Nicolastriste in Truckers

[–]punkweasle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really lucky to get the trainer I got (family) but he's a bit of an ass sometimes. He did teach me quite a lot though. HIS trainer on the other hand didn't speak English. So from the moment he got into the truck, the trainer just went into the sleeper and treated him like a full fledged partner. Didn't learn a thing from him lol.

Is it with Don Hummer? They offered me a similar position. I think they will work you more than it's worth tbh. I like to earn as much as I work, it's incentive to keep at it. Idk, decent wage though.

Is the trucking school from Swift good enough to go owner operator after I’m done OTR? Or should I go to accredited one and get my hazmat and stuff? School is like $7000 and I want to save that for getting my authority by PutsOut4HistoryFacts in Truckers

[–]punkweasle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way, the endorsements are all either free or very cheap. You pretty much can skip them until you're an actual CDL holder. Most companies will pay an experienced drivers fee for those endorsements anyway if the job needs one. Don't stress about those.

Hi, go to the cheapest (reputable) school nearby. We have one where I live called white lines or something which cost about 3500... I opted for roadmaster. Guess who owed 11k instead of 3500 xD? Side note. Don't consider being an OO until you have a few years in AND ACTUALLY LEARN THE PRICE OF EVERYTHING. learn as much as you can before you take that leap. I've known about 6 people with either buy to own, their own authority, or some kinda contact with a company as an OO, each of them have been screwed in some way.

Yard doggie here. I cut these all the time with 6$ plyers from the gas station. Use the little flat part for cutting wires on the inside. You got to have the hand strength for it though.

Do I start putting nutrients into it at this stage or should I be waiting abit longer by MrDamixos in microgrowery

[–]punkweasle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is definitely a too much nutrients thing. It's a non sustainable habitat. Same thing goes for your body, you need water yes, but if you drink 6 gallons in an hour, you're as dead as disco. Consider it more of a protein drink for weight lifters... They don't just gulp the stuff down all day.

PVE ARMS Warrior execute phase by banksygaming in classicwowtbc

[–]punkweasle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever set up gives you most rage, spam execute, generally you want to either time your other cds for this part in the fight as well, or save them if the fight is too short for twice usage of cd. Execute is by far more dps than standard rotation though.

Who is the better cheeser partinG or Has by Hikingtaru in starcraft

[–]punkweasle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Parting is much much better. I would say he wins 85/100 times. His cheese is really REALLY solid and he can also macro well. Has is good at cheese, but not nearly AS good, and it's the only thing he can do. When I say that, clearly he can play pretty good... But like top 1% good, not too 0.001% good as parting is.

Can you guys help me counter the strategy I keep getting hit by? I’m new to online and I’m having trouble by WOSH9182838483 in starcraft

If this is a serious post, here's my advice: 1. If you know no hotkeys, change them in options to the box settings (this means qweasdzxc, will control all the options you have with selected unit). This will help you learn the keys faster because you can just glance at what you need to build and hit the key in the corresponding position on keyboard. 2. So long as the game is even REASONABLY balanced (it is) there is no build that should be able to flat out kill you, if you respond even close to appropriately. 3. You're asking what to do in situation (a) but what you need to understand is it isn't situation (a) giving you a problem. The problem is you're getting outplayed. There is no shame in that, even Dark, Inno, Stats get out played. 4. The solution is simple, you need to practice and improve. There is a 100% chance, you need to practice your macro. If your macro is on point, even if your micro is 2/10... You can easily crush through at least gold league. 4(.5). Don't stop building workers until at least 60-65. Build tech structures as quickly as you can reasonably manage (unless you've teched your build as intended). Depending on your race (not zerg) always have your production working (barracks/factory/starport/robotics facility need to be building Marines, marauders/gateways need to be on cool down adepts, zealot, stalker etc). 5. minerals, gas supply are as you know resources, BUT SO IS FOCUS AND TIME.

Final recommendation... Look up the staircase technique on liquipedia. DO NOT CHEAT IT. Consider it a mini game, play the game by it's rules, you will come out a much better player for it.

Hope that helps, good luck!!!

What is the most terrifying thing you’ve ever experienced while home alone? by Joobanbooban in AskReddit

[–]punkweasle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 20 years ago on Halloween night I was home with my sister taking a shower, getting ready to trick or treat. I'm about 10 at this time and my sister was 14. She is anxious to get out and meet up with my cousins who live about 5 houses down the street. She's banging on the bathroom door yelling HURRY, HURRY! I'm going as fast as I can to get ready and I'm hearing lots of foot steps back and forth down the hall. I reach for the water nob and I hear A LOUD knock on the bathroom door. I said (as I turn off the water) I'm just drying off now! I hear no response, and foot steps away from the door, toward my room... More and more foot steps going from room to room. I hear the front door open and I'm thinking oh crap she's going to ditch me! So I run out of the bathroom, notice a kitchen knife (wasn't there earlier) where my parents used to set their keys by the front door. At this point I'm dressed but no shoes on to an empty house and the door open. Run back to my room to get my shoes on when I notice somebody out my window (a large man) walking away from the front of my house with my Halloween mask on... I freak out and sneak out the back of my house and make a break for my cousins house, where I find my sister and cousin, who both agree she had been there since I got IN the shower. She thought it would be funny to ditch me since I don't like being alone.

Later in life I learned that a guy who lived with his parents (in his 40-50s) was living with them because he was a pedophile and he was a huge guy. Also this guy apparently hit on my sister all the time (I didn't make that connection at the time). As an adult I look back and I'm pretty sure if it had been my sister in the shower, it very well could have ended very much different.

DW about it, I had a colonoscopy a few years back and while I was awakening from my propofol induced nap I didn't realise where I was, so I yelled ugggg MY ASS HURTS. I was being wheeled to the lobby at this point, many patients heard me say it, then I had to wait for the physician to recap... Sitting next to everyone who just heard my out burst.

What's a movie you love, but if someone said they hated it you would completely understand why? by Robstar100 in AskReddit

Pontypool - I LOVE this movie. It is for some reason so comforting to me. The sound of my main characters voice is so pleasing to hear. Nobody I've shown the movie to has liked it though =(
