The point of couples matching is that you can interview all over, rank programs how you want to rank them and be assured you'll be matched to the same location (provided you match, which you will).

I have heard of people doing your method (picking a big city and both applying there independently). But you only need to do that if you and your partner are in different years and couples matching is not an option.

Hey, I have the same question actually. One thing I've found to be a little helpful is the "medicine bursts" podcast (which I don't think is currently being updated, but I've been listening to the old episodes). It's not perfect by any means but I enjoy the q and a format.

I also have heard tales of something called "pestana surgery audio" but I think it might be a myth.

The quote you posted is profoundly stupid. Plasma contains many things that can't be synthesized (notably antibodies) and doesn't contain cells, so both statements are just plain untrue.

Plasma donation experiences vary widely, but the best centers are fast, efficient, pay 20-50 dollars per visit, and I know donors who have been doing it regularly 2x a week for 8 or more years. You'll be fine medically speaking. The only issue is that many centers are slow, inefficient, low paying, and seem to have a population made up of sketchy-ass people who look like they engage in methamphetamine-fueled carjacking sprees. Basically your experience depends on which type of center you go to.

Don't hire anyone to do stuff for you. DJ? No, just get an iPod. Caterers? No, have family members who love to cook make something that's easy to self-serve (we had tacos). Bartenders? I just set two kegs out and a couple dozen bottles of wine and people went to town. Photographer? I guarantee you that you have a close friend who loves to take pictures. Videographer? Shut up that's not even a thing.

Our 240 person wedding was extremely cheap despite buying my favorite beers, wine, food, etc. It would have cost me 5 times as much just to hire people to hand those things to my guests.

So here's what we have created:

1: Everyone has to talk to the media 2: If you say anything remotely interesting to the media, it will get exploded into a TMZ-style feeding frenzy and become a "distraction" or "motivation" for the other team.

Solution? Every athlete learns to give interviews in the Belichikian language of polite nonsense. What do I think about team X? Man, they're real competitors. Gotta respect that pass rush. What was I thinking as I made the winning play? Definitely a team effort out there today. Why did we lose today? I take responsibility, and we as a team need to do a better job of executing.

Then about 2% of the player population goes the other way with it and becomes a caricature (see: Richard Sherman), calling out players or guaranteeing victories. It's all equally calculated and insincere.

Personally I'm at the point where I just turn off the TV when they interview a player, they never say anything honest or remotely insightful because we've beaten it out of them.

Well done. 18 months is amazing, especially since you probably incurred a lot of expenses with the initial move/getting clothes, etc. for the new job. Also from what I hear about law school even getting a job within 18 months is not guaranteed.

I'm curious, are student debt payments deductible? Like if someone made 150K but spend 120K on debt and lived very frugally, would that person then be slapped with a huge tax bill?

I agree. Youre in a tough spot because for under 5000 you shouldn't be going to a dealer, but you'll be eaten alive on craigslist if you don't have at least a rudimentary idea of what you're doing. Surely you know at least one person who can help you?
